I love this song. I heard it first in Tarzan. Love that movie and this song. :) Thank you so much, Viva - La - Lee.

  • <3 I was looking through some old Disney songs on my iPod the other day and this popped on, there was an instant connection :p

  • Why Viva "La" Lee ? Lee is a man, should be Viva El Lee, though it would probably be just Viva Lee anyway.

  • Not even, The right Spanish Phrase would be " Viva Lee", La and El are not necessary

  • Why? Because I'm not spanish and Viva Lee isn't as orientated towards the classic Viva La Revolution.

  • I didn't really like the song, sorry.

  • But you thought the lyrics to that other song were well done? That's actually pretty interesting. If you don't mind me asking what genre/period of music do you most listen to?

Eh, just about anything. The two genres that I'd say I prefer would be Folk and Jazz.

Here's one of my favorite songs:

It actually ends at about 5 minutes, not sure why the video is seven.

And yes, the lyrics in Take Us Back were great, and I will stick to the fact that they made perfect sense. Also, I never said the lyrics in your song were bad, simply that I didn't really like the song. I don't think it fit.

  • I still stand by the 'fact' they don't make sense. If I were posting from a computer and not scrolling for ages to create the simplest of posts I would make a legitimate agrument as to why the lyrics fall flat on their face (when I get my computer back I wil do so).

Why do you think the song doesn't fit?

I'm really big into music so I always love engaging conversation about the subject!

PS I couldn't listen to the song you posted, stupid 360 -_-

Well, I definitely don't think that that song fit to Lee's death because that was an incredibly sad and depressing scene, and that song seemed mostly upbeat. Also, it does seem like something from a cheesy romantic-comedy or something, though I can see how others would think differently.

I think that Take Us Back fit more because it was about looking back to a better time, not even necessarily back to before the turn.

Also, I really don't get how you think the lyrics don't make sense, and I'm awaiting your argument as to why they don't, but for now, I'm going to elaborate as to why they do.

First, a link to where the lyrics can be found: http://www.metrolyrics.com/take-us-back-lyrics-alela-diane.html

The first verse is about a better place, that's made pretty obvious when it says, "It is there, my dear, where we will begin again."

The second verse is about whatever empty place they are at now, and how memories of how it used to be are found there.

Third verse is about how when things change, all they'll really have are echoes of how it used to be.

It's a very simple song, and the lyrics, while not overly complicated, make perfect sense. It's also a really great song for that scene, as even then, we know that Clementine(and the player q_q) will want to go back, and she'll just be left with memories of how things used to be. It's a very beautiful song, and the other one... I'm sorry, it just seemed cheesy and way to upbeat for the scene that you're saying it fits.

  • No I agree it isn't sad enough for his death scene, it's to powerful to take background and have the scene play out. I meant it as a reflection song, about how he was not how he died. "Remember me how I was not how I am." And how he will always be there for her, perhaps not physically (obviously) or even spiritually but he will always be present. And it can be viewed from both Clementine's point of view and Lee's point of view depending on how choose.

I'm not going to bother with the other part of our conversation for now since I can't defend myself properly or give evidence to denounce your ideas. I'll hopefully be returned to 'my beauty' in a week or two. (Hopefully.)
