The Crooked Man and The Crooked Mile (SPOILERS)

edited February 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

Beauty says herself she knew "The Crooked Man"and took a loan from him. Also, if you interrogate Dee, he mentions Beauty is his "co-worker" of sorts and he knows her well. I'm think the Crooked Man is Dee and Dum's boss. But what does he want them to investigate for? Even Episode 3's title is "A Crooked Mile" and The Crooked Man's origins come from the old nursury rhyme that begins with:

"There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile."

The whole thing is:

"There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile. He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile. He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse, And they all lived together in a little crooked house."

Many Fables are based off nursury rhymes, like Georgie Peorgie for example. I'm excited to see who he his.

My guess is we will confront this "Crooked Man" in episode 3

  • You might want to cover this with a spoiler warning. Many people could just hop in and get slapped in the face with what they read.

  • Ok, I will. Thanks man

  • Sixpence means 6 pennies, right? I have encountered this word before...... Why does it have to be six?

Sixpence is a British coin. It's actual worth is like 2.5ish pence(their version of the US penny). It's kinda confusing but here is the wiki for the coin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixpence_(British_coin) it will explain it easier then i can.

  • interesting theory

  • I just figured that the Ginger would be The Crooked Man because he has crooks on his tie. Weren't there character models for the guy though and he was named something else? I could be totally thinking about another character though.

  • That's interesting. Maybe that's why he doesn't appear anywhere in episode 2?

  • I don´t quite follow the two of you xD
Do you mean the char models of him had a name like say "Peter"?

How exactly does that even work in this world? Is Bigby´s real name big bad wolf and he just called himself bigby so he could fit in the human world? So could that not be the case for the crooked man too?

  • Hah! Sorry. I must have confused the character model thing with The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 2. There was a post in TWD community that had some TT game character models. I'm still guessing Ginger is the Crooked Man though.

    1. The red haired man is quite possibly the crooked man :o
  • Thanks!

    interesting theory

  • I definitely thought that The Crooked Man was the ginger. I just feel like Telltale wouldn't recycle a character like that. He pops up way too many times in episode one for it to be a coincidence. I don't think that Ichabod is the killer OR the Crooked Man but I am still really curious about his massage from the first episode, which I now assume to be a date with Lily? Also, why would he make we take off the dress and then kill her? What was his incentive to kill Lily? I understand the one step closer theory but Ichabod has been with Snow for a while. There just not enough evidence yet and it frustrates me! I just hope that Telltale pulls through for the plot line and doesn't make it obvious. Or stupid.

  • Yes, he did have a voice in episode 1 so I'm guessing he's not a recycled model. I also don't think he's the killer because Dee and Dum were sent to investigate and that wouldn't make sense if he was the killer

I hope the ginger guy ISN'T the crooked man, i would actually love to se a old man with a beard.. a full grown beard xD If you noticed, Telltale never made an old man with a full beard, right? I like beards SOOO much, not like, like like them but just like, i always think people with beards are nice, i don't know why :I

  • Chuck had a beard coming in lol

  • Its more likely that he is the Boy Who Cried Wolf. Crooks are used by shepards, the boy who cried wolf was a shepard. The Crooked Man and the Boy Who Cried Wolf are totally different people. Although I find it really weird that when Bigby chased Dee that the ginger guy was sitting in the hall. Some people say that Dee was giving the ginger guy something. In my opinion I think Bluebeard hired the ginger guy to spy on Bigby as he was investigating. But theres also the fact that theres more than one of the ginger guys.
