Is it just me or was the quality of the lip animation real bad in EP2?

I couldn't help but notice the lip animation was real bad in EP2. Sometimes, during the interrogation scene for example, Tweedle speaks without his mouth really moving even. The lip sync is also out at times.

Would be glad to know if it's just me or others felt the same as well.

  • i noticed that as well. It was never perfect in episode 1 or any telltale game really, but I did seem to notice it more this episode.

  • Indeed, EP1 felt bad compared to TWD as well, but this was just another low.

  • It was never great in any of the Telltale games, really. Personally, it didn't bother me any more than it did in the other games. I guess I've grown used to it and stopped caring

  • I wouldn't down the whole episode because of it. It is something they should improve upon though.

  • did anyone experience it in the "Previously" video? For me it was out of sync for the most part, but then it was fine when I actually began the Episode

  • It was probably the framerate chugging.

  • Me too. And at the same time, I'm quite disappointed on the whole episode as well. 4 months of delay and that's it? Geez..

  • Didn't notice. To busy punching his face in.

  • At least they put a lot of effort into the boob animation and "jigglyness" cause those babies makes me want to log off and go to my friendly neighbourhood strip club. Hopefully they'll spend a couple of hours on improving the lips cause Bigby looks like a kid smoking his first cigarette.

  • Yep, i did notice that, it was really distracting for me.
Also there were a few scenes were the audio of some voiceactors was cut off really awkwardly in the middle of the sentence (crane during interrogation for example).

Overall the quality of this episode is really low, seems extremely rushed somehow despite the fact that it took them so long. Maybe them taking on all those projects at once - Walking Dead S2, Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, Game of Thrones and god knows what else is simply too much for them too handle and it really shows in a huge drop in quality unfortunately.

I agree with you OP. I noticed a drop in animation quality overall to be honest. Like dubesor above me, I found it super distracting a lot of the time. It just felt rushed and janky. I hope episode 3 has more of the same quality in animation etc that episode 1 had. :/

  • That's because parts of the original episode were cut and they had to add new ones.

  • I noticed it here and there but it didn't disturb me.

  • I totally agree. It ruined the Beast confrontation scene because it looked like he was mumbling everything he was yelling.
