I agree. The first episode did seem rushed and phoned in. Like they just wanted to get it out for the sake of it. Which is i guess the natural progression for consumer products. They tend to become watered down and brand oriented instead of quality oriented as they go through their life cycle. I just hope S2 gets better later on.
I didn't like how short the episode felt. Out of all the Walking Dead episodes to release so far, Season 2 Episode 1 was by far the shortest o… morene. I also didn't like how Clem had no opportunity to interact with the majority of the cabin group. There was hardly any optional dialogue scenes or any kind of hub for that matter. I sincerely hope Telltale emphasizes this in future episodes because this episode felt almost rushed in many regards.
I played season 1 and thought it was a masterpiece. But after playing the latest offering - it was a let down. Im not the only one to think this. Being a big fan of the series doesn't change the fact that the episode was just a weak start to this season of games.
Well, if you hadn't seen Season 1 and started watching Season 2, you'd probably only have yourself to blame for your let down. Maybe you just … morearen't that much of a follower. Season 2 might be weeding people out. I personally, though Episode 1 of Season 2 far exceeded anything done in Episode 1 of Season 1. But, I'm a fan of the whole series.

Did you buy the game after all the episodes where released or did you wait for each one as they came out?
If you did buy it after they where all released you didn't need to wait for the next episode and could play through the whole game in a short amount of time, so if one episode was bad you could just try the next one right away to see if it was better, but if you now have to wait it gives you time to think about the things you didn't like about it and then give yourself negative thoughts of what the rest of the season could be like.

Sorry if someone mentioned this but I'm not scrolling through 332 messages to check...Ok I've only played through this once so correct me if I'm wrong but it starts 16 months later right? How the hell is Christa still pregnant?! She was preggo at the end of the first one. Baby should have been a few months shy of a year old by the end of 16 months right? Or am I confused? Did I miss something?
The game starts around 8-9 months after the end of season 1 and we see Christa heavily pregnant, after Omid dies it then skips to 16 months later and Christa is no longer pregnant and the baby's fate are currently unknown.

What I don't like is that in the early days of the game there hardly seemed to be any other survivors around when the apocalypse started, but now we're what 2 years later and there are more and more survivors appearing quite regularly. I thought it would be the other way around.
I dont get your point. I still would have had to buy them whether they were all available or not. If i was a first time buyer of this walking dead series of games, i wouldn't have bought episode 2. I felt it was that weak.
The first episode of last season captured by interest immediately. I wanted to play more. This latest one didn't do that for me. I was just rushing through it just to get over with, hoping something interesting would happen in the meantime. It didn't. I did not have that reaction in any of the games in the previous season.

What i meant was if you had access to all of Season 2 and didn't like the first episode you could go straight to the next one to see if it was better without any delay, it could change your opinion on the first episode by thinking back and seeing why they chose to introduce it the way that they did, people can make lists of their favourite to their least favourite episode in s1 so it could be that s2e1 is your least favourite and you could enjoy another episode more (unless Telltale really let up down with their story writing which i really hope doesn't happen).
I know when i first played season 1, episode 1 wasn't my favourite on my first playthrough but looking back it was one of the best, i really enjoyed s2e1 and am really looking forward to the rest of the season, i do appreciate different opinions but try not go into future episodes with a negative attitude as it could ruin your experience by thinking about what you didn't like while you are playing the next episode.

Maybe. I do intend on playing the rest of S2. But the first episode from last season was more focused. It was Lee and Clem. Thats easy to latch onto. It seems like there is a million assholes running around in S2 so far and it was only one episode..

Sounds to me that its the feeling of nostalgia that you are after. With games like this, things change and sometimes dramatically. Maybe you are one of the people that were hoping that Lee was still alive or that it wouldn't be a very big time gap between the seasons. I think the setting and plot are a perfect starting point for Season 2 and Season 1, although good did not leave me on the edge of me seat after the first episode like I am here in Season 2.

haven't been in here for months... About the treat I think Omid dying was really bad (since I liekd him), but that reason appartit was a normal death to show that the world hasn't changed, the world hasn't become softer and that things are even worse... This is the walking dead it's not Pirate of the carabbean (wich I love ok love captain Jack Sparrow, I'm not bashing the movies, but everyone that dies in pirates of the carabbean allways returns somehow :P). I think it was normal in TWD for Omid to die to show the players that the writers weren't softer because people play as Clem so they would kill anyone the same way as season 1, even omid, that was one of the fan favourites. And Christa is most likely NOT DEAD. She must have run away and will reapper. I don't think they would kill Christa of screen like that. About Sam the dog, yes I liked him and I think he got killed to soon, but I'm guessin if Clem said she had a dog bite and appeared with a dog everyone would believe her and the story would be different and if Sam never attacked her I guess the writers could make Sam and Clem go to the group together, but the story is interesting this way, even if killing Sam made me very sad. About the group and Nick, Everyone in the group allways has a point. In my opinion everyone was great expect for Sarah and Alvin. Alvin seemed too "meh" in my opinion and Sarah really only spoke for one scene, but I'm expecting Sarah to have a bigger role than Alvin... I'm not seeing him do anything rather than dying like Katjia in season 1... Nick, Pete, Luke, Rebecca and Carlos I found them all interesting in their one way, people have to eveolve and not be stuck with the personalities from season... I chose to save Nick BTW. About taht choice "It's not how it worls?" It doesn't have a way to work, the writers doas they want.. This game is to simulate reallity and in reality sometimes you make a choice and two people die sometime both stay alive whatever... They have to make differente choices, I found it great as it is. TT knows we make a choice but go on the internet and now about the consequences of the others so they want to mess with your head by saying "oh you saved that guy? if you saved the other one both would have lived... Oh well..." I think it was a good episode, not the BEST but a very good one for an introduction episode
Agreed. I think it was to change Christa's character to one that was more hardened, which could possibly be very important further into the season, but the shock value thing was just kind of irritating. I didn't see it coming, but not in the "ahahah oh SHIT!" way when it happened to Carly. More like in the "eyebrow raise, really?" way.
Here's where I start disagreeing. I assume that Telltale didn't tell you exactly what happened because they didn't feel the need to spell it out for you. Clearly Christa miscarried based on her attitude and Clementine's overall sadness when she regards Christa. Why didn't they say it out right? Because why would they? This isn't a week or even a month later, this is a year after the miscarriage. It would be unrealistic if Clementine or her just started talking about it. They probably long ago just decided not to speak on the incident again, though I think it WILL come up and they WILL explain it in more detail later on in the season.
The time skip was for a few reasons, I think. One was to make Clem better able to handle herself, which I think is actually a sensible thing to do. You would have to seriously suspend disbelief if they hadn't. Two, to get them out of Georgia, finally, and have them somewhere else. I liked this too because Georgia has been the Walking Dead setting for SO long and it's nice to see them get out of there. Three: to show how Clementine has grown and changed to match her environment. It takes a few years for her to really adapt, I imagine, and all of what we see her do and her toughness and survival skills are based on her experience in this new world. It provides an interesting perspective to play off of and I don't really think it detracts from the story all that much. It'd be boring if it was the same old place in the same old time and just left off where we started. At least in my opinion.
I think you missed the point of Sam. Telltale was trolling us and at the same time turning the INCREDIBLY cliched "hero finds the dog and they become the best friends ever" trope right over on its head. It's overused and overplayed and Telltale went in a depressing but actually realistic route. The dog was starving and reverted back to instinctual behavior when his food was threatened - which would probably be what happened IN REAL LIFE if someone came across a dog who had been alone and starving for so long. How many games have had the dog character go the exact way you described? Boring!
The group isn't uninteresting, necessarily, you just don't know them. You don't know them because Clementine doesn't know them, which is the POINT. Telltale purposefully tries to put you in the shoes of the character you play, which is why many decisions are timed. If Clementine knows nothing, you know nothing either. You're playing as Clementine walking into a new group and being the odd one out with no clue what's really going on. It's simply a change in dynamic from when you were playing Lee and were an integral part of the group and valued to an extent. It's off-putting and a little unnerving and that means they got the dynamic just right. Besides, not everyone in the group is an asshole! It's mostly just whatsherface pregnant lady and Rebecca's father. You don't know if they're bad characters because you hardly know anything about them at this point in the game. Which I assume was Telltale's goal.
Yeah, Telltale might have been trolling there. OR NOT! You never know, maybe Nick and Kenny are related somehow! This goes back to the fact that we really know almost nothing about these new characters as of yet.
Why shouldn't that be how the choice works? How absolutely boring and predictable if it's the same old same old "you choose one and the other dies" stuff. Been there, done that. I was actually pleasantly surprised that it went differently. And remember, just because they both live in one of the choices DOESN'T make it the right choice. Hell, with the way Pete was clearly bitten, saving him might just be the wrong choice.
Is she severe autistic or just mild?
Which is normal giving you have autism.
True which is the whole reason why people are autistic but depe… morending on how severe your autism is then it will vary.
Well if she does have autism it would be high functioning because the others can't understand friends and the world. I don't think she has autism, i think she's just been hidden from the world because Carlos fears it will change her.
Yeah his a loner because he has severe autism .
I was just mentioning that some kids at his school are high functioning and some are severe.
If it autism then i hope they make it look like a real autistic person but i highly doubt she is.

yeah i mean is it me or does it just seem odd how terribly all these adults are treating a child? I mean she isnt even a teenager, she is just… more what 11 or 12 years old? I dont understand how they hate on her so much and stick her in the fucking barn at night in the cold rain even though she is bleeding and hurt and dont even offer her food. What the fuck? I mean even if were to turn, these are like jalf a dozen big ass adults that could easily take her. That part just never seemed realistic to me - which is why I think they should NOT have made a girl the protagonist. People just treat children differently, here they treat her like an adult which doesnt make sense and definitely would not be the case in the real world.
I fucking hate Christa. I really dont want to see her again - she annoyed me last season and Omid always felt more like her child than her lover. She always talked to him like he was 12 years old - i cant believe that bitch woul… [view original content]
First of all, there is nothing wrong with Omid dying. This is a zombie apocalypse. If people were considered "safe" because of reasons like … more"it's too early" "they are too important" or "They just entered the story", then it wouldn't be realistic. And that is part of t he point of this choice-based game. To simulate what would happen in real-life.
Second, Christa's baby and the time jump are related. The time jump wasn't just to make Clem older. She did amazing things when she was only 8 and 9. She can do amazing things at 10 or 11. It doesn't matter. The jump was more to make us understand that Christa should have had her baby. What happened to it? Well that is the question, isn't it? I like having cliffhangers like that, as long as they get addressed in later episodes. Not everyone likes instant gratification.

Having completed it last night didnt get that sense that was awesome more that i was devasted
1. Know Clem older but complete character change annoyed me cold and calculated in all her kills and acted and talked really twisted think should have her become like that but with better pacing with events in s1 and see the change not just begin as this person
Seemed very Linear couldnt walk around some areas or go back to shed everything seemed like pushing me to do one thing and not explore
Glitches or just my playthrough but when talking to sarah that was character that looked like kenny standing behind me and room with watch a character what looked like lee was just standing there staring at me creepy and playing at night
Characters dull and uninteresting never make real connection with anyone
To short
I spent whole s1 teaching clem good morals and robs, kills and lies in first chapter
Let down but also played The Wolf Among Us and was really impressed loved murder mystery and pig with gritty english accent to funny
Also Sam the dog probably just me but playing freebie for 20 seconds doesnt make me connected to dog then give dog all my food and the dog nearly kills me stupid dog felt no connection just anger rather cheesy way like dog dies saving clem from zombies then would be upset or just gave clem more time to connect with dog

It's not a fact. Its an opinion. Its not TellTale's fault that you don't like their vision. Stop playing it if it bothers you that much.

You call my concerns stupid and I'm not suppose to take offence?
I am mild autistic and Sarah behaves a lot like me. she stay by herself just like me and i'm 14 and I sometimes act like I'm 12 so I think she is mild
the 1 problem is the "clem will remember that" now that you play as her they don't matter
Sorry my comment was really dumb. I just meant I didn't agree with your concerns
Whatever, man. It's cool.
Not like I expected everyone to agree with me when I made this thread.
Let's see how telltale go with it.
If they do bring in that she's autistic then it will be interesting to see how detailed they go about it.
I don't think you have to save Nick for him to survive. It looks like he runs off if you save the other guy.
I like your answers. I totally agree with everything you said. Nice job.
Yeah, 3 times better than Episode 1 of Season 1.
Omid got Omid killed by letting the door slam shut. But, it couldn't really be avoided.
in the apocalypse adults dont care that youre a child and christa doesnt blame clem for omids death
precautions
youre a genius
