  • I don´t want to be pesimist here but don´t get your hopes up guys - my opinion on release is early March. There´s a simple reason for it. This is tweet posted by J.J. Stauffer from 3.11. 2013 (!) about release of the second episode of TWAU : @CheapyD @SamitSarkar @KyleOrl Thanks for playing, guys! 'Smoke & Mirrors' will be here before you know it... So as you can see, "before you know it" means 3 months! I know there were some unexpected issues but It is still unbelievable. Now, I don´t believe in release of TTG game till I don´t see tweet with the exact release date.

It does. They can't release both games too close together or TWD will overshadow TWAU. The games need to be separated

They had to re-work the story for The Wolf Among Us, obviously causing the delay. The Co-Founder of Telltale Games himself said several things conspired against us, and we do not anticipate it happening again.

Unless they have to re-work the story for Season Two as well, I doubt we'll see a delay like for The Wolf Among Us.

But I fully agree -- Telltale, please define around the corner for us.

  • I just really, really, really, REALLY hope it's worth the wait. I want a nice, long episode that's action-packed and makes me emotional like season one.

I have high expectations for this episode because episode 2 of the first season was where things REALLY started to heat up. I was iffy on the game after season one episode one but episode two was what really sucked me in. I might go so far as to say it was the best episode of season one.

  • Um, no. That's logic. Plenty of people like TWAU. I didn't say I like the schedule but that's the way Telltale is doing this. I play both games as do many others. They're making them available in that order to not overshadow each other, I didn't say they only make one at a time, I'm saying they won't make both eps available in the same week.

  • I didn't say it's good in general. Do read properly and be civil. Two bits of info in one week is unusual and good for Telltale, especially tweeting that the episode has actually been played. They wouldn't tweet about playing it if they knew it was far away, that'd just annoy us

how was that good? One message in 50+ days ? ? ?Geez you people need to take a course on Marketing specifically customer relations. I don't k

  • My only problem is that TT gives the 4-6 weeks wait and they almost never make it so. I mean in season 1 it was not that bad considering that episode 2 and 3 took 2 entire months to make ( not counting vacations...) but episodes 4 and 5 came out 6 weeks apart from the precious ones so I don't know what to expect.... But I'm getting kind of pissed with the "just around the corner" and "soon" meaning 2 or 3 weeks... For me just around the corner is like 1 week to... it's problably not next week since we don't have a release trailer... And even if TT plans to announce the date one daybefore, they allways release a traier (a tease or release one)

  • I just think you are settling because they released 2 pieces of information. . .both of which said absolutely nothing. They said "it is coming soon" . . . they could have said that 4 weeks ago. Your last line however is pretty funny especially the part about "that'd just annoy us." So let me get this straight- you think them tweeting out something THAN not responding would annoy you BUT it ISNT annoying when they don't release one statement for 50+ days ? That logic doesn't make sense.

So, you're telling me the gap between episodes should be 2.5 months?

Don't be a fool. If we reach March we'll start leaning against the delay The Wolf Among Us had. The gap between A New Day and Starved For Help was 64 days, (two months), and we will reach that number by February 18th. The remaining episodes took a month to six weeks to release if I'm not wrong.

If they have a three months gap between all episode for both games, we will be playing Episode Five in 2015. :P

Don't be FOOLS march is earliest we will get it...

  • Actually same happened for Episode 3 also. Episode 4 and 5 came out in that rough 4-6 week timeframe.

  • I agree their fan interaction needs to be different, we aren't going to rip them apart if they say something we don't want to hear, we just want to know, so I'm unsure why they don't tell us. I'm okai with them not giving us Ep2 info right after Ep1 because I knew TWAU Ep2 would be first, so I'm glad they've given us info now just after TWAU because now is the best time to make TWD Ep2 available if it's ready. Telltale don't usually tweet about playing their yet to be available eps so it seems good that they tweeted this. That along with the FB slide makes it seem very certain it will actually be as soon as they say it is

  • no. im happy with updates like the one we were just given. a play through was finished. great. now we have some info and we can begin speculating realistic time frames for when the game is coming out.

A week ago people were complaining about no information. There's no pleasing some people.

Unlikely. Telltale has already set the fans on edge with their TWAU delay. Keeping that approach to releasing episodes just isn't advisable from a PR perspective.

  • Am i the only one who knew the release date was the first week of February??

  • Even if they completed it. we should let them take their time they are not on our time we are on their's. and if we rush them it might not be as good as we want it to be.

  • Half-Life 2 Episode 1 took about 1.5 hours to finish (sounds familiar, wonder where I've heard that recently). After getting feedback that people wanted a longer game, Valve came out with episode 2 a year later which was a couple hours shorter than a full game. Valve weren't able to put out an episode of any length in a acceptable amount of time, so they went back to full game releases.

My point is Telltale can release an episode in good time (apart from TWAU Ep2, which they claim will not happen again) and The Walking Dead Season 1 proved that they only need a couple months in between episodes to make them the masterpieces that they are. A couple months isn't a huge delay and there isn't a single developer I've ever heard of that can develop a game to the same quality of a Telltale game as fast as Telltale does.

    Riadon posted: »

What does Valve's work on the Half Life episodes have to do with TWD? They could have just as easily been called Half Life 3 and Half Life 4. They were full games in every aspect other than story, which was the only thing that was really episodic.

  • You obviously weren't around for Season 1. Anyone who was would know that 4-6 weeks is completely unrealistic.

And seriously, a vague teaser is better than absolute silence. Telltale can't give us solid release information because they don't have a release date yet as they need to wait for Microsoft and Sony to certify the episode for their platforms.

    Riadon posted: »

This isn't a release date, it's a stupid, purposely vague teaser. Are we supposed to jump at this? Episodes are supposed to release in 4-6 weeks. I should be so pleased that they are managing 8-9 weeks!

  • Aww, That sucks. Although I already kind of assumed it wouldn't be on the 11th I always predicted the 18th. But maybe...Maybe she was trolling when she said she was trolling? I don't know, just trying to lighten things up a bit.

  • But there's a tweet from few days ago from Laura Perusco that confirms that the episode is probably completed. There isn't any real issue that would cause a rewriting of the plot and a delay like TWAU.

I agree in the same thought as well. But if it's not I'll just draw tons of fan art of the game to keep the hype up.

If they bend over and arch their back really sexy like then your blue balls will just get bigger. Then you really wont be able to contain yourself if they have to delay. That's why the release date is hidden.

  • Hopefully ;/ I'd do the same as others and wait until the whole Season is available but I can't resist playing each ep when it's available. It'll hopefully be worth it if Ep2 is longer than the Ep1 and the TWAU eps, I miss all the exploration and moving forward at our own leisure like in the first Season. That at least made the eps optionally longer, good padding instead of bad padding or just rushing the games
