The St. Johns

edited February 2014 in The Walking Dead

I was wondering which do you think was the more human thing to do at the end of episode 2 starved for help, kick Andy St. John into the electric fence or let him live?

  • i let him live i thnk its the better way cause i dont want clementine to see how i kill him

  • i did not even think of that lol, i killed him because he would have been eaten alive by the walkers

  • Hmmm tough one......I'd go for letting him live, if you killed him you're just giving him what he wants/sinking too his level. Plus that way he still suffers for what he did, his brothers gonna die slowly and painfully (stuck in a modified trap that HE made - i find that rather ironic) and he's lost his mother, and walkers have bust into the farm (and i think kill him at the end?) Anddd the bandits can now get in too (well i presume so if the walkers can) so even if the walkers don't get him the bandits do - ah karma, it's a bitch huh?.

  • true, lol

  • Considering what he and Danny did, the human thing to do would be to kill him. It could also be interpreted as an act of mercy that he didn't deserve. But one of the main focuses of TWD is the fact that people stop thinking that way anymore. And Andy and Danny are perfect examples for that, that's how i see things at least.

  • Shooting him seems the kindess thing to do

Most of the people killed Danny, but they didn´t kill Andy because they were afraid it could affect Clementine. It´s a fucking zombie apocolypse and like Chuck said you ain´t a girl or a boy you ain´t little...you are alive. I killed both of them because in my eyes it was the most logical thing to do. There was no reason to let them suffer even more and if i didn´t kill Andy, he may have escaped and hunt us down desiderating for revenge. Clementine may not have liked it, but it was my job to protect her and do what´s best for her. If that means cold hearthed murdering 2 people, that´s how it´s got to be.
I also let Ben die by the way:D

  • thats the point i wanna make him suffer but i didnt want clem to see it so i just go and he gets eaten by zombies

  • I killed them both, because they were already too far gone and I couldn't risk one of them surviving. Besides, it's probably more human to downright kill Andy instead of letting him be eaten by his undead mother.

I killed them both. Clementine kinda silently judged me after killing Danny, but I didn't want those cannibals hurting anyone else. when Clementine asked me "Did you have to kill those men?" I said "Yes, they were bad men, Clementine. They killed Mark and they were going to kill all of us. They had to be stopped. Do you understand?"

And Clementine is going to see a lot of messed up stuff in Season 2, and I also killed the both brothers to help her get desensitized to it, because sooner or later she is going to be in a very messed up situation and I'd rather her be calm and collected rather than scared and freaking out.

Andy was such a winer so i spared him, killed Danny though.

  • Its kinda teaching her how fucked up this world is now and she's needs to prepare her self for it.

Killed neither for clem and I remembered the film dark knight when joker wanted to be killed to break batman and his morals and when both asked me to kill them i was already killer(convicted) and i knew if killed them i confirm to myself and the group i'm a killer with no morals i only kill walkers. The hardest decision for me morally was Ben scene actually deserved to die for all his mistakes but saved him which i later regretted as killed Kenny(died a hero) but told second brothers his whole family died so got some revenge

The first time I played the game, I accidentally killed Danny, not realizing that throwing the pitchfork into the hay bail was an option.
If I'd had known that, I would probably have spared Danny.

When it came to Andy, seeing that I had already killed Danny, and that Brenda had been bitten by a Mark who had reanimated as a walker, I felt enough harm had already been done, and not wanting to do anymore, I thus left Andy alive.

The second time I played the game, I killed both of those sick fucks.
Considering how viciously they killed Mark, and how many more victims they had probably done killed for food, I concluded they deserved to die, though that doesn't mean that it was an easy thing to do.
Considering how inhumane they had become, by preying on fellow human beings, to me they didn't deserve to live.

Like Lee said to Clementine on the way back to the Motor-Inn: "They were bad men, and they needed to be stopped."

  • I honestly think killing him would be a mercy at that point. That's why I let him live and let the walkers get him.

  • lol

  • Actally I didn't kill his brother because Clementine was watching but I was ereally pissed at Andy saying i couldn't take care of the group and that I was weak so I showed him how weak I was and kicked him into the fence... I win!! I'm guessing his brother either gets killed by Lilly, dies of walkers, or cut out his leg and left the barn (with Maybelle :P)

Yeah I guess killing Danny would actually serve no purpose, since he was caught in the bear trap, and there unable to move.
Unfortunately, once you've killed them, as they themselves are also murders, what makes you any different from them?

  • I think if you spared them, "They're alive and suffering." I doubt we'll see them again. It would be pretty cool to seem them, but i think it's unlikely.
