Maybe I'm Stupid...

But navigating through this forum confuses me.

Perhaps it's because I'm used to a more traditional forum set up?

Primarily when I have new notification, and I click the button and it shows me like...ALL of the latest activity in the last thread I participated in. And I cant' tell if someone has responded to me or if someone has just responded period and.....yeah. This place confuses me. I hope I get used to it...or it becomes clearer somehow. ;.;

  • I managed to get used to the system, but yeah, they need to separate replies, activity, or related posts.

    That would be a start for this forum.

  • It's not just you. I find this place extremely confusing as well. And especially so because it's so broken on mobile devices.

    The solution I found is just to never have anything in the "Followed Discussions" sidebar. That way, I know that all of the notifications I get are from direct replies to me.

  • Why did they even waste so much money making this new setup from scratch? It's especially terrible on mobile devices.

    They should have just used this:
    https://www.vbulletin.com/

  • It actually uses Vanilla

    It's a heavily modified Vanilla forum, but Vanilla is still at it's core.

  • Interesting. That might actually be a good thing, because it could mean that they might less attached to sticking to this one. That's my hope, anyway.

  • I always thought this one was also good and easy to use:

    You know what's funny... the Vanilla webpage can't even be centered when viewed on my iPhone. I've never encountered a website that was so hard to view on my phone. Explains a lot about this lovely forum. LOL. Seriously, guys, if you have an iPhone, go to http://vanillaforums.org/
