  • God, that sounds so wrong.

It's good to see you're looking out for Clem's future sexual interests.

  • You implied it

    God, that sounds so wrong.

  • Ain't nothing wrong with a bit of a Lolita side story going on. The Zombie Apocalypse has probably seen worse shit by this point.

Same here, bro. If she was my daughter, I'd protect her at all costs.

  • well, guys. from a parents POV, there are two kinds of protection for their daughters.

1.make her avoid EVERYTHING related to sex. Forever. Until she moves out the house. In the best case scenario, she will be completely innocent. At the cost of suppressing her sexual desires for years.

    1. slowly get her to experience that stuff for herself. She will get to know herself and her body over time, resulting in understanding what sex is and what she really wants. She will not be as innocent as you would like her to be, but as long as you never watched her in action, you will probably have no problems keeping an innocent image of her in your mind anyway.

The actual advantage to the second one is that she will not run to the first idiot with a boner to find out what sex is all about. True, she could still do it anyway, even if you were to choose the second option, but at least it seems less likely to me...unless you made her grow up into a slut from the very beginning.

I believe if I had the choice, I would rather have my daughter use this than having intercourse with some random douchebag. Though, granted. I would still feel very awkward about it.

Same here, bro. If she was my daughter, I'd protect her at all costs.

As long as it's not Carl, or a Carl type. My Clem can do better.

  • And why not? Clem has been surviving in zombie apocalypse like two years, she saw deaths, suffering, betrayals, etc. She's not a kid anymore, I say.

  • Carl did, so I don't see why not... Except for the fact that it kinda goes against the dark and lonely world TTG is going for.

  • I don't know. Carl in the comics is fucking amazing, especially after his mother's death and his first time dealing with walkers alone.

  • It could still be dark like a one sided relationship with some boy that's really an antagonist. If she becomes a duo with someone, someone that can get her killed.

No, no not like Romeo and Juliet. Ill just face palm for you.

There's a difference between one sided relationship and mutual love. I didn't even reference any relation to the danger of how he would get her killed. How the heck did you get romeo and Juliet out of that?

  • I don't, but I do have a problem with lack of subtlety.

If in the far, FAR future we get a major time skip in the comic to the point where Carl is in his late teens / young adulthood, I can imagine him and an also older Clementine meeting.

  • The most I think we could see is a crush and I wouldn't be surprised if the player gets no input into how that plays out.

  • But Clem wouldn't be dumb enough to be with such a person.

  • I always though Clem having some "Crush-thingy" would be kinda cute but not a "Love-interest". A love interest sounds kinda like a major point to a story in my opinion but Clem having a crush or kinda liking someone will be cute :)

  • That person could use the guise of being a good guy. As long as he makes it look like he's part of her survival she wont see it coming. Or he could just be a really dumb kid that makes really bad choices and steals from others asking clem to take the blame for it since she has a better standing with the people stolen from.

It's the story of a 12 year old girl falling in love with a grown man. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Have you ever READ Lolita? It's a beautiful story. Dark and horrible at times, but it's thought provoking and a good read. The Kubrick film of it is fantastic as well.

  • Exactly, I feel like these bad love stories are too rushed and it goes too far too fast. A good love story takes time and patience.

  • In creative writing and entertainment, a love interest is a romantic subplot. All "crushes" fall into its category.

Its the same thing when defining a "crush-thingy" as a plot device. Just call it a love interest.

Haven't read, but I have discussed with friends who have, read about it, etc. So take what I say with a grain of salt I guess.

Beautiful wouldn't be the word I would use. It was more like George Orwell's 1984 from what I heard, a constantly depressing but well thought out explorative text of darker aspects of society and human nature. But maybe I'm just too sensitive to Stockholm syndrome and pedophilia.

I'm not saying the book isn't self aware: the man in question is indisputably a pretty horrible person even though the book is written from his perspective, warping the lens somewhat. My point is that a Lolita story happening to Clem? Man fuck that. I don't want that at all. Trying to play through that would be like next level masochism of the mind.

TL:DR I know the book isn't pedo porn. It is a depressing, but thought provoking read. My point is, the thought of that happening to Clem or any child character I have invested a lot of emotion in brings out the terror in me. Lolita has already been written. I'm pretty sure Telltale doesn't need to write another one.

Such a subplot just unnecessary and horrifying on a level that I don't want to go.

So I guess a true TL:DR would be this: 2spooky4me.

  • I thought it was the story of a little girl being kidnapped and developing stockholm syndrome with a grown man that routinely beats her and pays her for sex.

Henceforth not something I want to happen to Clementine.

  • Nah, maybe when she's older than 16 or something.

  • I dunno, most of us trusted Vernon.

  • Yeah I think she should but not until later on in the story. When shes a little bit older maybe even in the 3rd season if they decide to continue which by the success its had I am confident they will. But as of right now I think she needs to stay 100% focused on finding a solid group she can trust and surviving.

  • That's not what I am suggesting at all, and I don't believe the OP is either.

Yes but do we really need Carley 2.0?

I don't, but I do have a problem with lack of subtlety.

  • Whats wrong with the scene? I think its fine, is Ellie not supposed to like other characters or even more important is she not allowed or supposed to have feelings for Riley in the last of us? Bullshit... If anything it has made her character better.
