I lurked the forums back in 2012, didn't join the forums but I sure did look at them to get hints about upcoming episodes because the fans here can sometimes have really good speculative ideas and hack into the game files to find out stuff we didn't see. I remember that the two month wait for episode 2 and 3 Never was this bad. By this bad I do not mean the PR, to be frank the time went by kinda fast for me due to School so I never complained mainly because I had no real desire to. I mean that I never saw this much complaining over the wait.
Probably because the folks who were here before The Walking Dead (This fanbase does not consist of me, I wasn't even here until 2012) were patient folks who were fans of a company like Telltale. The audience here consisted of people who searched outside the mainstream to find a company they like and wanted to support. It mainly consisted of mature teens and some adults. Now I'm gonna be sticking my schlung in a hornet's nest by saying this because it's either going to be highly accurate and I piss people off, or I'm highly inaccurate and piss more people off but I'm gonna assume it's the former because I have lurked around enough recently (Enough to finally make a damn account) to notice some things. That is to say that this community has way more young and impatient teens than before.
Some of the most vocal complainers make it clear they are quite new to this community and are only here for the Walking Dead and it makes it hard for me to listen to their criticisms without rolling my eyes because they get hostile if you try to defend Telltale at all. Am I defending Telltale? Kinda, the PR bugs me quite a bit but I have some damn patience. It's only been two months, if you were here at all in 2012 you know damn well that this is the normal wait time. Don't complain about delays yet.
Yes and we all know how reliable the word "soon" is from Telltale. I wouldn't be complaining if they gave us updates that weren't just... "Coming soon" or "very soon".

Judging by the fact how @Puzzlebox mentioned that the episode is still in development. I don't anticipate the news to be anything big this week given how she mentioned nothing about close to releasing or anything to that degree.
After this season there is no more season pass for me. I for one will simply wait until the season is completed if TWD franchise is to continue on after this season.. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the work the dev's do at TTG, but their PR team basically has a way for smearing words in your face by saying things like the game is near completed or coming soon, but doesn't show their progress. I think TT should learn to keep their commitments to their schedule instead of disappointing their paying customers time after time with promises they can't keep

Even though I am only a community mod, I'm pretty sure Telltale avoids making concrete promises for this very reason.
Some of you hyper-analyze and scrutinize a generic "coming soon" message from a support forum post that - in context - was meant to do nothing more than to confirm that episode 2 was still in the works, and then indignantly wonder why Telltale won't come out and give you all some semblance of actual detail.
Maybe - just maybe - some of you dissecting every last word out of deliberately generic estimates and messages is why Telltale is too afraid to come out with more specific info. Imagine if Telltale said to expect Episode 2 in a few days, but then some issue came up and Telltale had to retract that statement. The forums would erupt in hell-fire.
Heck, look at that "legal entitlement for refunds" thread. The entire basis for that argument was that Telltale said "Episodes usually come out 4-6 weeks apart" in an FAQ question that - in context - was just meant to educate people on how Telltale's games have usually worked in the past. A whole thread throwing around ideas such as "legal entitlement" or "legally binding statements" was born from one generic statement. Then, it caused even more drama when people started lashing out at each other.

Yes. She said something like we expect updates, or hope for them. With the way things are going, those updates will probably be "coming mega s… moreoon!".
Excuse me for my lack of faith, but Telltale gives us almost no news. I have no reason to put faith in them. We've waited for long enough...
...Are some of you seriously looking at their Twitter accounts just to scrutinize them for having a life outside of work?
I swear, my post above is starting to seem even more true than before.

I am actually furious. The people who are defending this are either insane or sucking up to the staff to seem mature or some shit I don't know. Not only is there a complete lack of news, their 4-6 weeks promise on their FAQ is absolutely out the window. What is it now? 10th week? 11th? STILL IN DEVELOPMENT. I can't even. And their PR people think it's alright to tease us with "JUST PLAYED THROUGH IT LOLZ " "DUNT WURRY ITZ CUMIN SUPR SOON! PLZ WAIT FOR UZ". There is no way we are getting it this month and I'm debating whether we are getting it next month. Let me just say I'm not buying any new series by Telltale, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if the second episode is oh I don't know an hour long. There are so many things that they could've done better with this whole situation, but no, of course not. First a 4-month wait for TWAU and now the longest wait in walking dead history. If you can't handle doing two series at the same time, just don't do it- or at least get off from your throne and explain to us that you've been having trouble with it. They're acting like everything is normal when so far they've broke their guarantee and tried to assuage us with empty "soons". It's ridiculous and I'm realizing it's a waste of time checking this forum every day because we shouldn't be expecting a release until March. They say TWAU delay was a one-time thing but lo and behold it's dangerously heading in that direction already. Unacceptable. Explain to me how A House Divided was "around the corner" two weeks ago. If it's around the corner it's a big fucking corner. "HEY GUYS LOOK AT THIS SWEET SCREENSHOT" I could seriously not give a shit why Luke is running at Clem anymore because I lost interest in these characters. It's been 3 months Telltale, that kind of removes the feeling. When did they release the screenshot for season 2? A couple weeks before? Just don't even think about getting it in the next two weeks. Three months wait for an hour of entertainment, then after that hour it's just this all over again. It's insane. I'm not even going to go into they could do this different because frankly anything would be better than this.

Same here. The word "soon" does not satisfy people who have been waiting over 2 months now.

We get updates this week.
Did you read her post?
Suicide is a serious matter, please don't make jokes out of it.
Did that lightsaber come out of his...nevermind...gotta love Spaceballs
Some of that, unfortunately, is quite true.

I won't be surprised if episode 2 comes in a bundle with Half life 2 episode 3
I remember when I used to try and defend TellTale's laziness and failure to release on-schedule.. fun times.
Even though I am only a community mod, I'm pretty sure Telltale avoids making concrete promises for this very reason.

He's a writer for telltale. Does this mean their finalizing writing for episode 3?
I think we all know by now that we would rather much have the episode itself and not some vague "updates".
That's TWAU's writer. TWD's writer was last seen having a good time at a pub or something like that
Bitch, I have ALL da force powers!

"I thought you were dead"
No one thinks it is the water bottle guy?
Enough talk! FIGHT!
I use my badass lightning pawahz!
No. Only some of us are.
I'm pissed because they don't update us enough, not because they're enjoying their lives...
Nope. I've got better things to do with my time.
Which only serves to prove my point.
