Telltale is too afraid to come out with more specific info. Imagine if Telltale said to expect Episode 2 in a few days, but then some issue came up and Telltale had to retract that statement.

It maybe fear on TT side that is preventing that, but businesses don't become successful out of fear of their community/customers. It would at least be appropriate to give an estimate or at the very least tell when they have sent the game in to their distributors(or about), which is not to much to ask for and I'm sure most people very appreciate of anything more than what we get now.

I think TT should learn to keep their commitments to their schedule instead of disappointing their paying customers time after time with promi

...Did I say they fear their consumers?

Fear is not the problem. A decently sized amount of users here (as of now) make it a routine habit to hyper-scrutinize and dissect every last word Telltale says. There is a world of difference between "fear" and making sure that you are not giving your customers the wrong idea.

I can't speak for Telltale as I am only a community member like you, but you have to keep in mind that through dealing with potential legal issues from distributors (Sony, Steam/Valve, Microsoft, Apple, etc) as well as other companies' IP, they don't have as many luxuries in sharing information.

I use my badass lightning pawahz!

  • He's probably just joking.

In several posts today where I've clarified I'm only a community member, he would immediately afterwards ask or say something implying I work for them.

  • You've been here for over 3 years, so you obviously have some experience with Telltale's service. That being said, everyone should be aware that you know what you're talking about.

  • Fans of the game have every right to be angry!

The episodes themselves are fun to play.. But Telltale has been failing on pretty much every other area of business..

Their PR team is pretty much useless when it comes to paying customers.. And their directer is full of poo! "played the episode" coming "Super soon" "update in a few days" Still waiting on the update, and super soon is past super soon come Friday.. No info, no nothing.. Their support email may as well not even exist. And their updates are NOT UPDATES.. A screenshot and a suggestion to play 400 days is .. W/e.. No interaction with the community... And when they do say something.. It is just a random empty comment that is completely blind to all the frustration and anger... Example: Puzzlebox's comments. (2 pages of frustration and then her random comment about cupcakes..) They don't even try to address the frustration.. "sorry you guys are feeling upset, we will try and get something to you soon" Just that simple comment would go a long ways.. But they just flat out ignore us and live in their own world.. Shameful! Did they even apologize or try to explain anything in regards to the 4 month wait for episode 2 of TWAU? W/e.. They need to rethink their business model.. Their forward planning skills and customer interaction is horrible..

That's my two cents anyways.. Summarized as to avoid a lengthy rant.. Cause trust me.. I've already thought up ways they could go about doing business which far exceeds their current ability.. And they are the one's with degrees in this field.. Laughable..

  • Err... what point? Please, Blind, you have a lot of good points about some members of the community, just stop framing them with "You all". It kind of turns your valid point about an individuals comment into a blindly fired insult, shotgun-spread across the entire community, many of which are not doing this sort of thing.

Kind of hurts the feels for everyone. Just saying "you" changes the message entirely. And all the people of the same opinion get the point anyway before they post when they see your precise argument deconstruct their fellow's posts, without hurting the rest of the communities feelings.

I know there some stupid going around at the moment, ("how dare they have lives!"), and I also realize that it's just a small grammatical error technically ("You all" as opposed to "you"), and it's understandable that you might be angry over following things:

    1. The level of vitriol aimed at Telltale employees by some members of the community is pretty over the top.
    2. The arguments used by some members of the community can be a bit nonsensical (They are doing things that are not making the game, get them!)
    3. Most importantly, some members of the community are leveling criticism at Telltale employees that aren't even part of the PR department for nonsensical reasons, which is more or less the reason for the buildup in irritation is due to the Lack of Communication (that is how this all started, I think, anyway).

Some people Not all of them. I'm not trying to be a smart ass, just doing this for clarity of what the point of this point is.

My point is, just watch how you "aim" your arguments/criticism, or you'll start to fall prey to the kind of group-dumb that some people are infected with on the forum (aka WE ARE SLIGHTLY ANGRY AT THE PR PEOPLE's LACK OF COMMUNICATION SO WE WILL GET MORE ANGRY AT ALL OF TELLTALE)

Anyway: TL:DR just try to be more careful at starting a comment with sweeping phrases like "You all". Because not everyone is doing it, and some people take offense to being grouped with people of other opinions.

No. Only some of us are Which only serves to prove my point.

You make a completely fair point. My apologies, I'm just getting annoyed with the over the top vitrol from the vocal minority.

On the hopefully off chance someone thought I literally meant everyone, I of course meant only the people acting out and again apologize.

Not really. I just thought my first comment unintentionally came off as a bit rude.

I was agreeing with his point that the vocal minority is impatient, but my first post made it sound like I approved of him looking down on everyone.

People are downvoting everything else I say in this thread anyways, but you don't see me making big changes to those, do you?

  • Wish I could say the same thing but if the writing is good they'll always have me hooked on these games. They should take their time on it. Not everything can be cooked up real fast and thrown on a plate like a hot cake. I would prefer them to take their time making a quality dish. Maybe I am insane like you say though.

  • Well, there you go. All the more reason to believe you know what you're saying. Some of the people complaining here haven't been on these forums or a fan for that long, including me. But I know better than not to complain about the waiting times, unless of course if it exceeds 3-4 whole months.

  • We can't really say anything negative about the game or the developers at this point. The only thing they're doing wrong is communicating with the customers. NOW if episode 2 comes out in 1 or 2 weeks and it turns out it's also another 1 to 1 and a half hour episode then we really need to start getting worried about the direction where this game is going.

  • I'd strongly prefer not. Thinking about removing the gifs from above soon enough.

To be honest, complaining does get exhausting after a while...

    Time for a beer, methinks.

  • Hate to break this to you, but the words are yours, friend. If the SMOKE & MIRRORS delay had never gone down, you'd have more of a point. But after that particular incident, you can't blame a lot of people here for being a little more short-tempered than before.
