Telltale is too afraid to come out with more specific info. Imagine if Telltale said to expect Episode 2 in a few days, but then some issue came up and Telltale had to retract that statement.
It maybe fear on TT side that is preventing that, but businesses don't become successful out of fear of their community/customers. It would at least be appropriate to give an estimate or at the very least tell when they have sent the game in to their distributors(or about), which is not to much to ask for and I'm sure most people very appreciate of anything more than what we get now.
I think TT should learn to keep their commitments to their schedule instead of disappointing their paying customers time after time with promi… moreses they can't keep
Even though I am only a community mod, I'm pretty sure Telltale avoids making concrete promises for this very reason.
Some of you hyper-analyze and scrutinize a generic "coming soon" message from a support forum post that - in context - was meant to do nothing more than to confirm that episode 2 was still in the works, and then indignantly wonder why Telltale won't come out and give you all some semblance of actual detail.
Maybe - just maybe - some of you dissecting every last word out of deliberately generic estimates and messages is why Telltale is too afraid to come out with more specific info. Imagine if Telltale said to expect Episode 2 in a few days, but then some issue came up and Telltale had to retract that statement. The forums would erupt in hell-fire.

Fear is not the problem. A decently sized amount of users here (as of now) make it a routine habit to hyper-scrutinize and dissect every last word Telltale says. There is a world of difference between "fear" and making sure that you are not giving your customers the wrong idea.
I can't speak for Telltale as I am only a community member like you, but you have to keep in mind that through dealing with potential legal issues from distributors (Sony, Steam/Valve, Microsoft, Apple, etc) as well as other companies' IP, they don't have as many luxuries in sharing information.

Hey Blind sniper what shady bar do you meet telltale reps in and then they slip you the briefcase full of $$ under the table?
lol Im joking I actually find this all very distressing, please hurry up and release the episode blind sniper
In several posts today where I've clarified I'm only a community member, he would immediately afterwards ask or say something implying I work for them.
You've been here for over 3 years, so you obviously have some experience with Telltale's service. That being said, everyone should be aware that you know what you're talking about.

The episodes themselves are fun to play.. But Telltale has been failing on pretty much every other area of business..
Their PR team is pretty much useless when it comes to paying customers.. And their directer is full of poo! "played the episode" coming "Super soon" "update in a few days" Still waiting on the update, and super soon is past super soon come Friday.. No info, no nothing.. Their support email may as well not even exist. And their updates are NOT UPDATES.. A screenshot and a suggestion to play 400 days is .. W/e.. No interaction with the community... And when they do say something.. It is just a random empty comment that is completely blind to all the frustration and anger... Example: Puzzlebox's comments. (2 pages of frustration and then her random comment about cupcakes..) They don't even try to address the frustration.. "sorry you guys are feeling upset, we will try and get something to you soon" Just that simple comment would go a long ways.. But they just flat out ignore us and live in their own world.. Shameful! Did they even apologize or try to explain anything in regards to the 4 month wait for episode 2 of TWAU? W/e.. They need to rethink their business model.. Their forward planning skills and customer interaction is horrible..
That's my two cents anyways.. Summarized as to avoid a lengthy rant.. Cause trust me.. I've already thought up ways they could go about doing business which far exceeds their current ability.. And they are the one's with degrees in this field.. Laughable..
I am actually furious. The people who are defending this are either insane or sucking up to the staff to seem mature or some shit I don't know… more. Not only is there a complete lack of news, their 4-6 weeks promise on their FAQ is absolutely out the window. What is it now? 10th week? 11th? STILL IN DEVELOPMENT. I can't even. And their PR people think it's alright to tease us with "JUST PLAYED THROUGH IT LOLZ " "DUNT WURRY ITZ CUMIN SUPR SOON! PLZ WAIT FOR UZ". There is no way we are getting it this month and I'm debating whether we are getting it next month. Let me just say I'm not buying any new series by Telltale, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if the second episode is oh I don't know an hour long. There are so many things that they could've done better with this whole situation, but no, of course not. First a 4-month wait for TWAU and now the longest wait in walking dead history. Err... what point? Please, Blind, you have a lot of good points about some members of the community, just stop framing them with "You all". It kind of turns your valid point about an individuals comment into a blindly fired insult, shotgun-spread across the entire community, many of which are not doing this sort of thing.
Kind of hurts the feels for everyone. Just saying "you" changes the message entirely. And all the people of the same opinion get the point anyway before they post when they see your precise argument deconstruct their fellow's posts, without hurting the rest of the communities feelings.
I know there some stupid going around at the moment, ("how dare they have lives!"), and I also realize that it's just a small grammatical error technically ("You all" as opposed to "you"), and it's understandable that you might be angry over following things:
The level of vitriol aimed at Telltale employees by some members of the community is pretty over the top.
The arguments used by some members of the community can be a bit nonsensical (They are doing things that are not making the game, get them!)
Most importantly, some members of the community are leveling criticism at Telltale employees that aren't even part of the PR department for nonsensical reasons, which is more or less the reason for the buildup in irritation is due to the Lack of Communication (that is how this all started, I think, anyway).
Some people Not all of them. I'm not trying to be a smart ass, just doing this for clarity of what the point of this point is.
My point is, just watch how you "aim" your arguments/criticism, or you'll start to fall prey to the kind of group-dumb that some people are infected with on the forum (aka WE ARE SLIGHTLY ANGRY AT THE PR PEOPLE's LACK OF COMMUNICATION SO WE WILL GET MORE ANGRY AT ALL OF TELLTALE)
Anyway: TL:DR just try to be more careful at starting a comment with sweeping phrases like "You all". Because not everyone is doing it, and some people take offense to being grouped with people of other opinions.

On the hopefully off chance someone thought I literally meant everyone, I of course meant only the people acting out and again apologize.

Wish I could say the same thing but if the writing is good they'll always have me hooked on these games. They should take their time on it. Actually, longer. I only registered a forum account back in 2011. I've been a fan since 2008.

We can't really say anything negative about the game or the developers at this point. The only thing they're doing wrong is communicating with the customers. NOW if episode 2 comes out in 1 or 2 weeks and it turns out it's also another 1 to 1 and a half hour episode then we really need to start getting worried about the direction where this game is going.

I lurked the forums back in 2012, didn't join the forums but I sure did look at them to get hints about upcoming episodes because the fans her… moree can sometimes have really good speculative ideas and hack into the game files to find out stuff we didn't see. I remember that the two month wait for episode 2 and 3 Never was this bad. By this bad I do not mean the PR, to be frank the time went by kinda fast for me due to School so I never complained mainly because I had no real desire to. I mean that I never saw this much complaining over the wait.
Probably because the folks who were here before The Walking Dead (This fanbase does not consist of me, I wasn't even here until 2012) were patient folks who were fans of a company like Telltale. The audience here consisted of people who searched outside the mainstream to find a company they like and wanted to support. It mainly consisted of mature teens and some adults. I'd strongly prefer not. Thinking about removing the gifs from above soon enough.
Hopefully they make it longer than 2 hours, unlike TWAU ep 2
Looking spiffy.
Holy shit. Blind Sniper's holding back all the fans!
I kinda feel bad for him, lol. He needs some more backup during times like this :P

Time for a beer, methinks.
I don't really understand why he has like 6 downvotes on each post, regardless of what he says.
Lol, the downvote trolls are pissed at unaffiliated forum moderators.
JESUS CHRIST!! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND WALKERS HAVE KILLED EVERYONE IN TELLTALE OFFICE ??!? THE NEWS WE RECEIVE ARE MADE UP BY GOVERNMENT!!
