[Honest and constructive answers only] What could be the reasons for the "unexplained" delay in EP2?

Many reasons, and I hope the community can help shed some light. Yes, no one here knows the exact reason, but we can try to find it nonetheless.
Financial difficulties, short staffed, same staff shifting back and forth between TWD S2 and TWAU etc.
Please keep the discussion civil.
Thanks!

This is easy. Firstly TWAU episode 2 had development issues Telltale already said as much. Secondly well being maybe a little late (late by people expectations mostly) episode 2 of TWD has not been delayed and probably will not be.
I don't think there is an actual delay. I think its poor PR, and well meaning TTG staff not realizing what their comments will snow ball into.
How can you say "late by people's expectations mostly" when the FAQ explicitly says "4-6 weeks"?
Saying it is not an actual delay is really just demeaning to those who've been rightly waiting for some weeks now for the episode to arrive "on time".
I actually think the radio silence was intentional on their part as well.
I think they wanted to add some more content (perhaps) based on complaints about all that remains being too short.
Telltale said they don't want two release 2Episodes of 1Series in the same month, so i think that's the reason we we get it in early March and not late Februar.
It wasn't really a delay to begin with, they just didn't tell us when it was going to release. They aim between 6-8 weeks; anything that exceeds that isn't a delay, it was just past their expected goal. A real delay is if we are told a release date and it is moved to a later date.
We were kept waiting for about three months, if I can remember when they released the first Episode, which was around mid to late December, I think. If it exceeded any longer, then I would dub the term "delay" but I guess we were more ill-informed than anything.
It will probably be alternating months from now on hopefully, but then again...
Making the game good?
When reading that FAQ did you notice that it said episode is GENERALLY out "4-6" weeks apart. Well the FAQ needs to be updated as development time has increased they have not really lied about anything. They've never set a release date in stone and seeing as it's obviously coming out in the coming weeks, has not been delayed.
What delay? They haven´t never gave us any realase dates for episode 2, so what delay are you talking about? The said that they try to realase each episode after 4-8 weeks and episode 1 was realased 8 weeks and 3 days ago, so they are almost on time.Trailer coming next week and realase is on early march.
Their delay of The Wolf Among Us may have been part of the cause also. When they finally completed the second episode of it they instantly went to work with the next Walking Dead episode. Simply put, they've been having development lag with their works thanks to how long it took for The Wolf Among Us to come out.
Telltale honestly need to hire more staff. Running two big projects like this with horrendous delays is not going to go too well for their reputation. I can imagine they'll be made fun of for their delays of episodes in the long run if they plan to keep things like this when Borderlands and Game of Thrones start.
I don't get you.
If your your going by a FAQ it's your own fault for trusting it, FAQ's are just bunk PR. a delay is when they set a hard date and miss it. The Radio silence comes from them not wanting to miss a date. If you notice they still have not actually set a hard date, early March can mean different things to different people.
I'm sure we were.
My fault for trusting it? Wow, good on me then. Who am I to go about putting faith in FAQs, eh?
Who?
While it is unfortunate and certainly frustrating when there isn't an actual defined release schedule and the only information available is an estimate there is any delay as such as there was no promise it would be delivered then. Still let's hope it's the 4th and that episode three does come within the estimated timeframe.
Did you really need to make two topics that were extremely similar. Couldn't you have just rolled them into one ?
What don't you get? I will try to explain it in other words...Telltale said that when a episode of TWAU is released in Februar for example they don't want to release a episode of TWD in the same month.
Think they took time off from the holidays (or most of the staff) and they go by business weeks(4-6 weeks worth in work days).
Where was this said? Please stop rumour mongering and produce substantive facts.
This isn't a rumor...Telltale said it themselves, if you don't believe me just look for it on their Twitter or wherever it was Posted.
Uh, the FAQs are written by us mods, and they are explicitly stated as being UNOFFICIAL.
Oh wow. Holidays? Where does this come from suddenly!?
The FAQ does not explicitly state that it states usually four to six weeks.
Mate, I think you've lost it. The FAQ I refer to is the OFFICIAL TELLTALE GAMES FAQ for TWD S2.
This one: http://www.telltalegames.com/walkingdead/season2-faq/
The unofficial one I am dead certain is not the above.
You know they have an unlimited time off vacation policy right.
Ah. My bad, sorry.
PC, MASTER, RACE!!!
They weren't releasing TWAU and TWD in the same Month. End of story.
Please stop moaning even got our release date and trailer i'm happy want an answer email the company users and Mods have no inside information of what happened all going to be speculation
Telltale bit off more than they can chew with TWAU and TWD. It's pretty upsetting, really, because I am a fan of both games, but they seem to be unable to release their games in a timely manner like they said they would. Their customer service could really use some work.
The whole company needs an overhaul of management.
Whatever happened to "Constructive answers only"?
