Release schedules

Hi,

I've been following this forum for quite a while now and still are wondering if the recent "delays" are to be expected between every episode of TWD/TWAU or are they happening because TWAU had difficulties during development of EP2?

Is there any official statement for the future release plans, because I read 4-6 weeks which I honestly don't believe is going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the wait time or the lack of release date info for the episodes. I'm just wondering if there are like 2 development teams working serperatly on both games or if they are switching from one game to the other when the first one is finished and those 4-6 week plans are only met if they do not need to handle 2 projects at the same time.

Because I don't see any realistic way to handle these release dates when GOT joins the club and TWAU gets a 2nd season or/and TWD get's a 3rd.

The biggest wait was for season 1 episode 2 . So its likely the same here with the next few not taking so long. Though I honestly dont mind waiting, the contents good and it takes time. Provided they give little updates like they've been doing for the past few weeks I'm fine.

What many people seem to forget here is that Kenny's Mustache must have grown even bigger over the past 2years...maybe he grow a beard and the beard has grown his own Mustache. That needs alot of work to develop!

  • The official statement for TWD is usuallly four to six weeks which unfortunatly also means it may not be. TWAU just states periodically until all five episodes are released by Summer. Of the two games announced at VGX I'd suspect Tales of Borderlands is more likely to have it's first episode released sooner as it had a trailer with content in it.

There's been no official statement as to when Telltale releases their games, because it tends to vary. They've said in the past that they AIM for between 4-6 weeks between each episode, which is where you've picked that up, but that's all it is - a goal.

The recent delays were unexpected and are a perfect example of why they don't have solid release schedules! Hopefully we won't get anything like this again - I assume Telltale knows the fans will riot if they do.

My dear mod, I understand you play a role as a damage limitator. But the use of the word "AIM" is terribly misleading. In the FAQ, it is not the case. They simply mention "episodes will be usually available every 4-6 weeks". Please do not add in your own words or interpretation.

  • Yeah, I've only ever seen it as an estimate rather than an actual promised deadline.

  • I'm sorry, but I fail to see how my statement could be misinterpreted. In this instance, the phrases 'aim' and 'usually' are essentially interchangeable, given the circumstances, so how anyone can be confused is utterly baffling.

Really dude? "I aim to be a top footballer" isn't the same as "I usually am a top footballer".

Please, if language is not your strong suit, stay away.

    Or in context of this:

"We aim to release the games every 6 weeks" is not the same as "We will usually release the games every six weeks".

  • Because they still have to wait on the certification. I know I've seen SOMETHING(might have been one of the season 1 episodes - not sure) fail a cert and miss a release date. If that happened, then it would technically be late.

Yeah, I've only ever seen it as an estimate rather than an actual promised deadline.

  • So these "aims" are based on each game?
Or does the fact that TWAU didn't state them explicitly means it's like 4-6 for TWD?

Just a reminder, I also don't really mind the wait time - I love both games and they are done quite beautifully. I own both season passes because I truly want to support Telltale - as much as I don't think this episodic gaming is really something for me. I do not in any way regret buying them.

I just think that maybe they got their hands full with those two titles and those wait times are as good as it get's.
