What a bunch of crybabies...
Let me start by saying that this isn't me defending Telltale Games. All they do is create content that I just so happen to really enjoy. I don't defend products, let alone the company that makes them. Because what the hell do I care? I don't know the president of the company, and he hasn't done anything for me so who gives a shit? This is about me calling out the impatient, selfish, spoiled little shits who think they deserve to be spoon-fed updates by Telltale everyday and complain and bitch and moan when they feel like an episode has been delayed and they aren't getting what they paid for.
First off, they gave us an OPTION to purchase a seasons pass so we can save $5 downloading all 5 episodes. We bought it, and we'll get the episodes as they come along. Check the information on the seasons pass and tell me if it says you're supposed to get an episode every 1-2 months.....nothing? Well, check your receipt and tell me what it says. You paid a discounted price to have all of the episodes ready to download for you as they're all done sequentially. Nowhere does it say you'd be getting them on a scheduled basis. You're gonna be getting them anyway, so who cares if it's delayed for a couple of weeks?
Delays. Yes, delays suck and I'd be lying if I said they didn't bother me. But two things: One, they didn't even have an official release date for A House Divided or Smoke and Mirrors for that matter. At least they were upfront and honest about the release for Smoke and Mirrors' being a huge delay. Two, just because the episodes in the first season were released once every 4-8 weeks, it doesn't mean the same will happen to Season 2 or The Wolf Among Us. You know what you can do while you wait for the next episode to come out? PLAY SOMETHING ELSE. GO OUTSIDE AND SOCIALIZE. READ A BOOK. STUDY FOR YOUR MIDTERMS. I DON'T CARE, JUST DO SOMETHING TIME CONSUMING.
Refunds. You ask for a refund when you feel that you aren't satisfied with your purchase. Ok, if you really think you deserve a refund just because an episode isn't coming out when you think it is, you really need to stop and think about how that's going to affect the company. Let's say you get your refund, you get your $15 back. Does this mean you're going to buy the next episode when it comes out? And once all of the episodes come out, you're telling me you're going to buy all them plus spending an additional $5 on episode 5? Right. So, when you demand a refund for your seasons pass, you basically saying you want your money back just so you can spend it again, ON THE SAME F**KING PRODUCT, plus an additional $5. So you've wasted your money just because you didn't get your episodes in your own imaginary schedule. "Yeah, take that Telltale...that'll teach ya to delay your content." Luckily, downloads are non-refundable so you won't have the opportunity to waste your money like an idiot.
So if you aren't happy with when you're getting the episodes, seems like you have 3 options:
- Find a way to pass the time (refer to the the end of the third paragraph).
- Stop buying future games from Telltale Games. I don't care about delays, I'm stoked for Game of Thrones.
- Deal with it and stop whining.

THIS ! Good to know Im not the only one tired of hearing people complaining like they were forced to buy the game They don't know how much hard work it takes to create one of these episodes in time, Have a Like
LEE: "Not helping, Molly."
Crying sucks.
God damn, someone finally said it. In a ballsy way too! I applaud to you OP.
The quote is wrong, it's: ''Not the time, Molly. =P
Actually, if you purchased it from Steam, you can refund it if the game isn't meeting its promises.
Kentucky Route Zero's had a massive delay recently, and a lot of people are getting refunds, even though the game's still very much in development. And with any luck, I'll convince plenty of Steam users to get refunds if Episode 2 turns out as terrible (by comparison to other Telltale games) as TWAU Ep 2.
See, your argument makes sense. In a way, it's right. We should stop acting like entitled crybabies. But the thing is, if we just sit back and allow Telltale to continue making lazier and lazier games, whilst doing nothing about it (Telltale ignores most of their community, it's not like actual, intelligent arguments will ever work on them, not while they're using PewDiePie and Twitter hype instead of speaking to their actual players to gain hype and advice), then all that's going to happen is Telltale's games will get worse and worse in quality.
I want to conduct a large-scale refund boycott not because I hate Telltale, but because I love their games. And the only way to let them know they have a problem is to hammer their profit margins.
I believe I am allowed to keep whinning.
... and in other news, your not the boss of me.
You've got it all wrong, He is not telling you what to do EVERYONE who paid for the gane has the right to complain but the thing is by bitching 24 hours a day we are accomplishing nothing, With your approval or not Telltale will keep taking as long they have to to make sure the episodes are good which is what really matters
Hey, you know what?
Maybe if you keep whining (not whinning), you'll get all of the episodes!
I'd also like to add that it's YOU'RE. "You're not the boss of me."
Well of course, now I cant speak for everyone, but im certain my complaining will change nothing for good or ill. My complaining is me venting off my frustrations. Now I try not to only complain and to partake in actual discussions, I am a fan and have no wish for a refund or to quit playing. But I feel if I am going to complain about Telltale, im in the exact right place to do it, going over to buzzfeed to do it would be silly (to be fair going to buzzfeed at all is silly).
I hope not, or else your whole life is about to become completly screwed up.
I will preform a penance for my poor grammmer.
We are all frustrated, Do you think that just because I don't complain I like waiting 4 months? You have every right to be mad but you have to understand voicing your frustrations throughout the forum will accomplish nothing, Would you rather get a shitty episode every two weeks or wait a little for an episode worth the gambles ?
Don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure you'd do a fine job at being the boss of me... Maybe even better than I.
Don't take it too personal. Forums are always full of complains and whining... I still don't understand how people can get so pest. Like you said, there are other activities besides from waiting for ep2.
Also, judging by the upvotes, plenty of people agree with you.
Goodness this community is falling apart, why can't we go back to the things way before. When this community produced some amazing theories and threads discussing the next episode or topics to do with plot points or their favorite characters. Sure there was arguing and bashing on peoples opinions back in the day, but it's better than having the community split between those who want to "boycott Telltale" and those who want everyone to "stop acting entitled".
Please, how about we just focus on topics concerning the next episode, I mean they gave us two screenshots yesterday we could talk about. If Episode 2 is bad then we should possibly talk about refunding games or such but not now. This isn't me saying that this thread is useless, or bad this is me just concerned with the direction that both the company and the community is going through especially with all this arguing.
If Telltale's next episode 'A House Divided' is bad and holds no relevance with the fan base, then the title can certainly be used as an accurate description of this community recently.
I would rather be at liberty to voice my frustrations, like I said I dont expect it to accomplish anything, TTG can take as long as they need, but that does not mean I need to keep my mouth shut, or not allow my posts to drip with sarcasam. But I am a very easy person to read. I rarely hold back how I feel, and I dont see why the forum having threads where people complain is such a bad thing. It may not accomplish anything, but when yesterdays news dropped I made a post 2 sentences long that contained the word "fuck" 7 times, and let me tell you I felt much better afterwards and was able to continue positive disscusions in other threads. I just dont think the negative additude is such a detriment to this community as other folks do.
Uh oh. Here we go again. Gonna get some popcorn.
well for both our sakes lets not put it to the test.
Not usually my style but I'll ad this since it seems to be accurate
Well, wait, why don't YOU go out and do something? I mean is lecturing to a bunch a individuals you claim as crybabies really worth the time and patience? Just saying I can think of a lot better.
Its not the fact that people complain its how often they do it, It seems like they were forced to play these games but the real irony is the people who are complaining the most right know are also the first ones to complain when they don't like the episode so my question is Do you want the rushed episode which would be a waste of your money or waiting for something that is worth it?
Always so supportive :P
that's not really a question
Apparently for some it is
Love your Gifs
Doesn't really matter. It applies to this thread either way.
I think there is a meaningful difference between complaining and whining. I fully support complaining about a company about things they do that you aren't satisfied with, whether or not it would actually do any good. But what goes on around here is not just people complaining; it's people throwing incessant, often vitriolic tantrums lambasting Telltale and their employees. Not only does that not solve anything, it undermines whatever legitimacy there was in the underlying complaint to begin with. There are things that Telltale needs to improve on and fans should try to point those out. But not the way we've been doing it on here recently.
You know what? Yeah, maybe you're right. Maybe it does seem like I'm doing what I'm berating others for doing. But there's one difference:
I'm not the one complaining about a product that has no affect on my life whatsoever not coming out when I expect it to. Maybe I'm doing this people deserved to be called out when they're acting like self-entitled pricks.
at least one
I see the OP has been taking notes from Zimmerman apologists.
Most gamers act like that. I'm just confused why everyone has to act so surprised by it. Didn't the Mass Effect 3 ending fiasco prove that gamers are passionate?
I would rather not be treated like a mushroom. But if your going to put me on spot, I would rather get a quality product. But I would add in a qualifier, that I want TTG to be up front about why it takes longer then expected to deliver the product. Not be kept in the dark and fed shit like a mushroom. The complaints I make are valid even if they are full of snark and jokes that are only funny to 1% of the population.
Because they are WORKING on it? The time it releases isn't the time YOU want it to release.
I can't argue with you, that's a reasonable response, other then to say success is double edge sword and this was bound to happen, your gonna need to learn to live with it.
DomeWing, we've all been doing our best here, but you have to understand why a lot more people have been losing their tempers. The TWAU delay made everyone high-strung enough as it is. The moment A HOUSE DIVIDED officially took longer than STARVED FOR HELP to be released, many fans simply snapped.
Holier-than-thou posturing and accusations about wrongful self-entitlement does nothing to quell the flame.
Dude I agree with you.
