Sounds fun...
You know English, right?
I write stories myself, and the number one thing is to write DRAFTS: writing right out of the oven will usually not be popular. My suggestion is to write a few different versions of your stories (the first few chapters) and see what you come up with, because usually, as you are writing, you come up with better ideas as you go. Make the characters interesting and create conflict often, be it personal or situational, or internal struggle.
I hope this helps.
Also, originality goes a LONG way in fanfictions and will most likely attract more attention.
Good idea fun to write about walking dead but need kid, fool and wise old man added. Start off with big event then skip years later and start story like russian going crazy murders whole village who he suspects are walkers and one of people was privates fiance then skip years later to broken down private who wants revenge and story sees how far he will test his morals to get it. But anyway good luck post it on this thread when finished like to read it
Nice but have rough idea known of famous murder mystery writers who didn't use drafts because if know where story is going becomes predictable so story goes in one direction just to met the outcome the writer expects so write without drafts so when writing it the mystery remains and even writer trys to find out who did it more fun and unexpectable for reader but have rough idea of where want story to go
Yes, but not everyone is a famous writer, so...
I came up with ideas as I went on, and soon I kept thinking: "Oh, damn, I should have done _____ in Chapter 2!" or "It would have been cool if ____ happened instead of ___"
I found that drafts helped me in the long run.
So some famous writers do which you are not so should follow your idea instead just saying but some drafts are good know tv writer of father ted and I.T crowd his drafts was just start, middle and end so each section know where wants characters to get to but good luck jason
That is my favorite way to write (or prewrite). Have the major points thought out and free write inbetween.
I did those for my Harry Potter fanfics, but for my Walking Dead ones, I tend to "mentally write" drafts, and I'll change back stories or names or whatever. And I'll plan for much later in the story. It's like my main one, when I was planning the whole Christa pregnancy - first, it was supposed to be a girl, and the name I was thinking about was Kirsten. Then, I thought about twins, so I was thinking about the names Hope and Peyton (girl and boy), but now, it's Saige and Noah. And my female, younger Ben was supposed to be named Isobel. I don't know why I do it in my head, but I just do. Have you ever done that? Just let it play out in your head like a little movie?
