He was an amusing character and didn't kill anyone we cared about. I think that basically sums it up. I doubt he would have any sort of fan-base if he had been an amusing character, and then he and Russ found and killed Clem and Christa instead.
i recall no such pause where russel wasnt moving, the man shoots the window and russel quickly hops out of the truck and gets into cover with nate, did i miss something in my playthrough? lol and im pretty sure if after the first shot russel doesnt get out of the truck quick enough the old man shoots again killing russel and game over, which would prove my original point he was trying to kill russel and nate
I said the first shot. They didn't LEAVE after the first shot when Russel wasn't moving whatsoever. He could have hit him but didn't. Instead of leaving they went to attack.
Even if I WAS wrong about it being a warning shot, he had reason to kill them. He recognised Nate, if you listen to the dialogue they say that they do and I believe an injured couple over a psychotic murderer, honestly. They wanted to keep Nate away.

Plus I don't think Walt recognized Nate, he most likely just mistook him for the masked bandit from earlier. Walt clearly says "I told you not to come back here! Think you can just leave your mask at home?! And now your with this fucking spook!" and then he says "She's dieing and now she can see your face (referring to his injured wife Jean)" which means he never saw Nate's face before. Case closed. Sherlock out!
I got the distinct impression they were old and confused.
They didn't wait long enough to identify.
Bottom line is, I find it impossible… more to have any sympathy for someone who has shot at me.
You should never escalate a situation unless you have the ability to finish it.

well that is fully 100% up to every player to decide for themselves, the old couple "reconizing" nate or being completly insane, we all know nate is a psychopath (though weve seen much worse in the walking dead universe) but i dont know if i believe nate alone and wearing a mask would break in there shoot the old woman leaving her still alive, not hurting the old man, and finally showing them his face by removing his mask only to leave and then come back again? i don't know the old man sounded a little crazy to me so take ur pick on who to believe the crazy old couple who just tried to blow your head off or loveable nate who actually saves russels life twice

Well I got that it said "Evil Dead Post credit scene". I was referring to the groovy horror that is like no other. I mean the head turning added with the simple words of "groovy" scared my socks off.

Joel best so badass every decision he made i would done same even at end when heard about ellie i said to myself i'm going shoot up that hospital to get her shes mine. I felt human race didn't deserve the cure after what happened to joel at start. Thorough story simple terminated anyone who was threat to ellie think i'm sociopath because think every decision he made was right and necessary my type of hero and if gave choices like telltale game go through exact same way
I don't know why people believe the old dudes. Personally I feel Nate was never there. He was driving from the opposite direction of the gas station when he found Russel and do you really think Nate would be dumb enough to park his car in plain view of a sniper and risk getting shot?
I think he had never been there before and just shot the old couple out of spite.

Didn't he chase Wyatt and Eddie because Eddie killed his friends? You can tell from Eddie's dialogue that they accidentally murdered a guy just minutes before.
Nate would be a horrible role model for Clem.
He's sexist and pretty much a psychopath.
Needlessly wasting two people and chasing down two more in the middle of a swamp is sending the wrong message.
..I can't wait for episode 2.

Quite literally
-_-
Interesting character? Not this shit again. First Lilly now Nate. They'd be perfect for each other
So true but could you imagine their first date? Shooting people in the head for fun! XD
Nate would instantly love Lilly then.
