  According to some article on Giant Bomb, Nate was actually inspired by some former Telltale employee.

  Hard to see a connection between Nate and Merle, besides the fact that both are abrasive; albeit in different ways.

  I read an interview about 400 Days where Sean Vanaman says Nate is based off of one of his friends but to the extreme.
