which one is your favorite,

I am currently completely up to date on both Telltale Games' The Walking Dead and AMC's The Walking Dead, and I recently purchased The Walking Dead Compendium One, containing issues 1-49 (it arrives on thursday). my question to you is, which one is your favorite and why? The Show? The Game? The Comics? Fire away!

Definetly the game, because you are a part of it. The fact that You get to make tough decisions, create bonds and relationships is what really makes it for me. You are an observer when it comes to the tv show or comics where as in the game it's kind of your own story, and you seeing yourself in a zombie apocalypse scenario.

  • It's a tie between the game and the comics for me(the reason i'm saying this is because without the comics, the game wouldn't have been made. You gotta give credit where it's due)

And lastly for me it's the show unfortunately. But i gotta give them credit for making some characters and certain events better than in the comics.

  • I like everything Walking Dead related.

The game is the best by far! The story, the characters, the voice acting...the whole game is a masterpiece!

The first Season of the TV show is very good! The second is also enjoyable but a little bit boring sometimes. The third Season is also very good at some parts and very shitty at other parts. The 4 Season is just garbage (atleast in my opinion).

I didn't read the comics so far, so i can't give you my opinion on that.

I hope that helps you making your decision.

I'm biased, I came to TWD through the game. I think the comics were strong through the prison arc, but the quality has dropped since. But both are miles ahead of the show. I guess I would go with the Game as the best with the comics a close second and the show last.

  • 4 Season is one of my favorite so far. Season 2 was my least favorite. I guess we have different opinions. :)

  • The game and the comics are Awesome, You can't mess with those, And the TV show I enjoyed the first three seasons but this one has been pure shit so I say Video game, Comics, Then the TV show !

Yes i gues so. But to be honest i don't know why anyone would enjoy this season anymore. The whole part about people dieing to some dissease was fucking stupid and what made it even worse was that only people died that we never saw in this series before. We didn't know anything about them, so we didn't care about their deaths. I mean it's a goddamn zombie apocolypse there are better ways to kill people of than this. And the whole Governor story part should never even have existed. He was supposed to die at Season3 finale already.

About Season2...yes it was slow story telling and yes i know some people won't enjoy that. But the whole Shane vs Rick situation was very exciting to follow.

I enjoyed Season3 very much aswell, except the whole part about Rick getting crazy and seeing dead Lorry wandering around...that just seemed kinda goofy to me. And the Season finale was stupid aswell, the Governor was supposed to die at the end. But i gues the writers of the show were just running out of ideas there and had to bring him back.

  • I agree that the whole Rick's visions thing was boring and a complete waste of time, But even with all the bad things Season 3 had I find it 100 times betyer than this one so fat

Exactly, Season3 was a hundred times better than Season4 is right now.

And what i hated most about the ending of Season 3 was that Merle Dixxons epic sacrifice to give the group a chance to survive vs the Governor and his people was completely wasted. The Governor just killed all of his own people and drove away like nothing ever happened.

  • Something you must remember SaltLick is, you know how annoying it was when rick was insane and had an unplugged phone with him to talk to Lori at nights for what? 30 issues? They got past this problem by having him see her and make a single phone call in the prison cellar. I think the show made the whole thing much easier to swallow, for me atleast.

For me it's a tie between the game and the show. Ofcourse the Comics are the original and is not far behind but for me i don't get the same experience from reading a comic as to see the true emotion of the characters, it's hard to describe. I think the game has had the biggest impact on me emotional-wise, because i cried like a bitch at the end. In the show i've cried during 2 episodes. One was ****SPOILER**** Merle Dixons sacrifice. And the second time was ****SPOILER** ** Midseason finale of season 4 when both Hershel and Philip died.

  • I like the game the best as it's my preferred modality. Like Jacob252 said it's about being a part of it. Plus I find especially the main characters from season 1 (Lee, Clem, Carly, Kenny, etc..) to have a deep level of intellectual depth that draws you in making you want to know them more with empathy. This takes great writing and pre production planning to create characters with such substance and appeal. Don't get me wrong, the comics and tv series are also enjoyable in their own right but the game is simply on another level simply because of interaction.
