Wait so will Telltale stop making TWD games anytime soon?

  • I don't think they'll end the series anytime soon. I trust them to keep the quality up for a good number of Seasons, and if I'm right on that, then I will continue to play them.

  • Totally agreed, I trust telltale not to get "dry", and so I hope this game lasts for many more Seasons past this current one.

Since the amazing comics has been around since 2003 (That's 11 years holy shit) i don't see why TTG's version could not continue, i mean even

I'd rather have changing the protagonist, it feels weird playing Clementine. Don't get me wrong, but it's the way of actually PLAYING her that feels weird and i'd rather have someone else and that Clementine is a part of the group instead.

(Shitload of downvotes incoming because they don't share my opinion, but i am prepared)

As long as this game keeps generating so much Cash they have no reason to stop making it, We love it And pay for it so the real question is: D

  • That doesn't necessarily stop them, they've always had a few projects at once and brought us content eventually. I don't see how a big project has to bottleneck the whole production, as i assume they have several working teams, like Valve and such working on different projects at the same time. Also even if it slows down production it doesn't have to freeze completely.

Sorry to say but considering the fact that they're going to be starting Game of Thrones later this year, a "multi-year, multi-title" deal, this second season might be the last that we see of The Walking Dead, at least for a while.

  • Aye, agreed.

  • Yeah I know where you are coming from, I personally would like to see Clementine grow up and be able to play as her for a long time you know see her develop into an experienced survivor but if they decide to change protagonists Im not gonna go off on them as long as the game is good !

Yeah maybe, but i see her from more of a Rick to Carl perspective. Rick and Carl evolves differently but we still follow them both as much, the difference however is that you are playing the adult who needs to look out for someone weaker, and i like that feeling more than being the weak one having to deal with things that wouldn't be just as tough as an experienced adult. This is just my feeling i get when comparing Season 1 and Season 2's gameplay (so far).

  • ...Yet I still see them on release day. I'm a big Resident Evil fan, but the movies are... well, you know.

  • While it's true that Telltale does sometimes work on multiple different projects at the same time, I'm not sure if they've ever had two projects of this magnitude running simultaneously. The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are both HUGE IPs and running two big projects like these simultaneously is a formidable undertaking. Considering how they've been handling juggling TWD and TWAU, there is reason for them to be cautious about exactly how much they can do.

  • Yeah, that is true, hopefully they will atleast stop the radio silence they've got going for them and actually come clean with the fans like: "With this amount of projects we are sorry to announce that you will have to wait a few weeks longer for each episode" instead of Soon. Soon. Super Soon. Around the Corner. Weekly Soon.

  • As long as TWD makes money for TTG and Robert Kirkman the game will continue.

I dunno. Season 1 is my favorite video game of all time, and Season 2 is on my top 10 list already. I'd love it if Telltale made a Season 3, but I don't want them to go any further than that. Some of the best franchises or series have been ruined because the developer simply doesn't want to quit. It doesn't mean something isn't great or fun early on, but any series, no matter how good, just needs to know when to stop, or else it gets diluted in quality and loses loyal followers.

There are plenty of examples of TV shows, movies, and video games that fit right into this.

MAYBE, just maybe, if Telltale stopped at Season 3 with its own canon and took on the actual comic books instead, adapting them into game form but with open-ended choices, I'd say continue. As long as they don't stick with their own characters/canon past Season 3, if there even is a Season 3.

  • They'll keep making it as long as we keep buying it.

This period of time is known as "the indefinite future".

Eventually I can see that the writers will need to "Kill-off" Clem if they don't want the story to get stagnant so I can see a sort of full cycle in her future. She learned how to survive from Lee, Honed those skills with the Season 2 and on survivors then in her last season or so takes an orphaned child under her wing and goes out Lee style.

This is why I don't write fanfiction or games, I'm horribly clichéd.
