Spoiler-Free First Impression Thread
I know there's another thread for first impressions, but its spoiler tagged, so I don't want to click it. I haven't bought Story Mode yet. I haven't decided if I should get it now or wait a while. So I think it would be helpful to hear other people's thoughts who have played the game.
Here are some questions to get you started. Feel free to ignore them and write whatever:
- What platform are you playing on?
- How does the game look and perform?
- How long did it take you to complete?
- Did you enjoy it?
- How does it compare to Telltale's past games?
- Are there any new mechanics or other surprises? Are they good or bad additions?
- Does it feel like a cash grab or does it feel like a lot of love was put into it?
- Do you need to have played Minecraft to enjoy it?
Edit: Can't believe I forgot: how would you rate it on a scale of 1-10?

None. I didn't want to pay 5 dollars for it. I watched a lets play
Weak Minecraft graphics... Nothing ambitious here
The let's play finished in like an hour and 30 minutes
Watching it? No. The voice acting was the only entertaining perk of this game so far
Judging by the first episode? Poorly...
Yes
I think that's the audience this game applies to yes
Assume you mean the Telltale stream event, they stopped the Let's Play stream a little early before the episode ended. I personally found that the episode lasts closer to 1 hour 45 min.
PC.
Played smooth as butter despite a character's beard glitching often
About 110 Minutes.
Pretty well. It's obviously for a younger demographic but as an adult I had fun
The Sword Fighting was fun and the chase sequence while short was pretty decent. Crafting is also cool. I'm curious what other stuff you can make without a Recipe.
Definitely lots of love was put into Story Mode.
Not at all. I touched Minecraft once at a friends house for like 10 minutes and wasn't digging it, but Story Mode was wonderful.
I'll give it a 8.5/10
