Hum... How often do you use Steam? If it doesn't have an exact date the order is shows up on the coming soon list for that month is pretty much irrelevant.
Besides August 9th is a Sunday, and Telltale doesn't release on Sundays
Hey... how about a contest about getting the right date (starting from episode 3).
Something like
"Pick the correct release date and win a Signed Printed Telltale Interloper (or something similar)
Pick one and only one date for each episode. Submissions can be made up to the 15th of the month before the release month (So for episode 3, the deadline would be August 15th"
This was hardly my own idea, in fact it was Telltale's. I just happened to win one signed Interloper by guessing the release date of S&M Season 2.
If that is too easy, it can be made more challenging by making it
"Pick the correct dates for all the remaining episodes"

Shouldn't this be a new thread? Rather than practicing thread archaeology and digging up 3 week old threads?
Those dates are just extrapolated by Steam. We'll announce real dates when they are real!
Liar... steam never lied about release dates ever to me. Either way episode 2 better come out this month or your going to have a lot of angry and passionate fans. (This is what happens when you take on a project about monkey island.)

Oh, and it says August 2009 on my Steam client, with no date attached, so there's no real problem here. It'll probably be out sometime over the next 30 days - and if not, us fans won't be too angry about it.
I'd rather have a late, well-polished chapter than a rushed/buggy one.

I really think it won't be out until the end of august, with the wii version being out mid september. Afterall, they got alot of slander about it being rushed, and they really need to fix those wii bugs.

Oh, and your subject says "9th". Might wanna fix that. It looks a bit silly.
Could easily just be a placeholder date, though.

EDIT: Wow! A lot of ninjas around here.
I wonder if the site will explode like it did with this one...
It was already known they were going to release an episode every month though.
Well but on Sam & Max for some reason there was a two-months gap between the first two episodes.
I think some obscure interview somewhere said that Tales would be every month, but it was nothing *I* saw, and I'm a pretty big Telltale fan.
