Insidious plot that threatens...: spoilers

Alright, Dave Grossman stated that the game will feature a crazy doctor, a pirate hunter, and a plot so huge and so evil that it threatens the heart of voodoo. Since we alreday know about the doctor and and hunter, I think the plot is more connected with LeChuck. A lot of what the voodoo lady said about LeChuck could match this plot and voodoo, about him having plundered his magic by not offering anything up to the voodoo world.

I personally think that LeChuck has made a very sinister and clever plan; dave and mike have said he will still be a villain after all. So this thread is just to speculate what this plan might be and LeChuck's remaining role.

sometimes when Guybrush was talking to people their eyes would turn red like they were possesed. Reminded me of the last episode of Sam and Max season 2. Is this just to point out that they are angry, or is there more to it?

I have no idea about the rest of the storyline, but I'm sure the hunter will take Guybrush to that g*y doctor. (Hugh Bliss?)

I persoanlly think that LeChuck planned the whole thing at the start. As soon as he got stabbed he grabbed Guybrush, the only reasons why Guybrush was infected with the pox. It was almost of if he knew what would happen and wanted to make sure Guybrush got infected. Him being confused may have been acting something we know LeChuck is great at (Charles L.Charles). Then he turns into a human but still cannot be killed because Guybrush's and won't let him. LeChuck also looks very pleased, he may have seem surprised at first but perhaps it was still a shocker even though he planned it.

In the end, pirates are turning evil, Guybrush and everyone else can't kill LeChuck because of the pox in them, he gets his youth and looks back, and a much better chance with Elaine. It seems a lot of good fortune in looking down at LeChuck. I think he planned it all and has much more left to plan.

Its because they have the Pox of LeChuck! Same reason they ahve spots on their skin like Guybrush's hand.

They are infected with the Pox oO Dont you see their green, spongy skin and the big pox-clouds in the sky? But still, this may of course be LC's plan to control all people of da world

Elaine has met the human LeChuck before, remember? And when she did, she showed him the way straight outta there. I don't think she can forget what a rat he used to be.

    I CALL CURSE.

He seems to have grown a lot kinder than before, probably through Guybrush, but he's still done... stuff.

There's really no evidence of him being kind. Giving a flower to Elaine I wouldn't say would show him being nice. LeChuck was always relatively nice to Elaine, even though he would tie her up. Now that he's human, he realizes now that he has a better chance. So, he makes sure he doesn't make the same mistake, being a jerk to her. That's the reason she told him to drop dead before the first game. So now, he has taken advantage of her depression of thinking Guybrush to be dead and is polite to her. Not much more he can except give a flower since he knows tying her up would not work, so he's trying to get her willing hand rather than he unwilling hand in marriage.

For some reason, I doubt being an ass was his original plan before SoMI. He must've tried being polite back then too; how would he even get into the governor's mansion if he didn't?

But yeah, she's sad and all. But that desperate...

It's all time travel! we are watching a twisted prequel and we don't even know it!
(well, just thought I put it out there for funsies)

Err... In the beginning of ToMI, Elaine was all confident about Guybrush coming to rescue her despite the fact that he faced LeChuck's piranha poodles, so it would not fit to an Elaine to be sad and all. Although absolutely clishé and not really to be wished is the thing with the Amnesia...

It wasn't his plan, but it was who he was. After all, later in the series, he abducted her, wanted to her undead, and use the ultimate insult on her. He was a jerk, but now he's trying something new. Giving her a flower is not really desperate; abducting her, wanting to make her go through big whoop, and even trying to discover the secret of monkey island, are all far more desperate.

So after guybrush release the winds from the island the pox of le chuck was released to the carribean?

I dont think he planned to become a human, since he didnt know that the voodoo spell won't work right.

I meant that Elaine would be desperate, not LeChuck.

Then again, she says "if I wasn't so married and he wasn't so dead" at the beginning. If Guybrush is dead and LeChuck is a human, those requirements are pretty much filled.
But, uhm... Guybrush has survived worse. o_o

But, as someone said before, what if she had lost her memory in the explosion? That would be seriously horrible... poor Guybrush!

PS Since Guybrush has this mojo-loaded hand, wouldn't it be fun to see him performing some voodoo magic? Like LeChuck on the ship, when he willed the wheel to move without touching? :D
