All you longtime telltalers. Answer me this.

So ToMI is the first series I bought direct. Before I just bought through steam, but I wanted the preorder stuff so I bought it.

When I run the game though, there is that sort of splash/dashboard program from which I then have to choose to run the game again. Are all telltale games this way, or is it new?

Is there a command line argument that I can pass to have it skip and load the game directly?

It's the usual thing in TellTale games, as far as I know.
So, is this really a problem?
Many games (like the LucasArts games) have a launcher window before the game itself.

Always been like this since Bone1 (2005) :)
And I think it'll stay this way.

It's not really a problem, per se. I just find it annoying and was hoping there was a way to bypass it. I haven't looked too deeply into the matter, just thought I'd ask here.

I was hoping that the shortcut created is the launcher and that there is another .exe that's the actually game. Didn't look tho, and I'm not at home to look now.

If that's the case, it's easily fixable. If not... se la vi.

It's part of their DRM I think.

I wouldn't consider myself a "long time Telltaler" (as you can tell from my join date:p) but I'm pretty active now and have recently purchased Season 1 of Sam & Max which I believe was one of their first large releases and all of those episodes have had the launcher. I think the first time it is used to log in for their DRM but I don't know why it comes up other times...not really a big deal though.

Yeah, it's just a minor annoyance I guess I'll just deal with.

And plrichard, love the sig. Just love it.

Keep an eye on that space. Cool stuff show's up there from time to time, and there's a brand new thing coming for ToMI soon...

That's the thing. I don't want to keep an eye on it. I keep an eye on their blog, newsletter and twitter already :)

Haha, you're actually the first person to mention it. I just fondly remember that scene because it was probably one of the first scenes in a video game that literally mad me laugh out loud.

They're specifically demanding that we keep an eye on the space both in the post above and in the launcher itself. I have a feeling this is part of that "Guybrush treasure hunt" game in-between episodes. Probably some sort of metagame hunt for secrets stuff.
