The Gulf of Melange

The map aboard the Screaming Narwhal pictures Flotsam Island, the Rock of Gelato and other islands. I couldn't guess whether the Rock is north of Flotsam or west; poxy hand made it impossible :) . But I suspect the islands north-west of Flotsam are Jerkbait Islands. What do you think?

Yep, I thought that too :)

    More than likely.

On a similar note, I'm happy that we're exploring a new area in the Monkey Island world. I mean c'mon, how many new islands could they create in the Tri-Island area of the first 4 games.

Oh sure I would love to revisit somewhere like Melee but only if it makes sense for the story.

Just to loosen this thread up a bit with a picture:

The Island in the lower left is Floatsam and the one in the upper left must be the Rock of Gelato. The larger one on the upper right is probably Jerkbait Island and I would assume the smaller one next to is probablt Spinner Cay. Love the figures on the map :)

And obviously you have a problem with left and right... right? ;)

Can anyone tell what's that figure in one of the islands in the upper left?

I don't have the degree, the jacket, or the fedora to understand these ancient drawings.

    Jerkbait Island
Has Jerkbait Island been confirmed as the name of an island in the Gulf of Melange, or is this just a name that fans are tossing around? I have not seen it mentioned anywhere else.

EDIT: I see that the island(s) is mentioned in-game.

I thought that you DID have a fedora?

Isn't that where the Voodoo lady tells you to go with the locket? I guess it's a natural assumption that it could feature in the Gulf.

Also, I thought she said Jerkbait Islands which fits the map better.

Yeah, she did say "Islands", and I do hope there'll be a pair of them, like Jambalaya and Knuttin', with a rowboat to travel between them :)

And by the way, are those two in the lower left FISH? Because if not, we may have found the location of Spinner Cay! :)

"Cay - A cay (also spelled key or quay; pronounced as "key" IPA: /kiː/) is a small, low-elevation, sandy island formed on the surface of coral reefs."

    What do you think? ;)
