Sam and Max could become/be demons?

Something just hit me.

There is this room that we see in the season 2 finale and inside that room are the two statues depicting how Sam and Max would look like as demons.

So, is this just a praise from someone like Satan in their world due the mount of people they have been sending on his way to be work force or something. Or does that mean they cause so much destruction without much care due that's their mission and they don't even realize it?

Then again, the series is so comedy centric that it could be just something random. Still that is probably the creepiest thing before the season 3.

    I took it as praise from Hell, but yeah, it probably could mean that they'd be demons when they did end up dying. I imagine they'd be pretty high up the food chain in Hell due to their actions, no matter how unintentional they are.
