CNBC Debates

Anyone watch? Comments LOL, I enjoyed it.

  • I saw the last 30 minutes basically. I laughed at the Fantasy Football talk.

  • The first hour imo was the best. The questions the moderators asked were hilarious.

  • I watched most of it, but I just had to stop because the moderators were so terrible. It was more of them trying to get the candidates to attack each other and not asking questions about the important issues, it was laughable. Even the crowd got pissed off and started booing one of them when he kept pestering Carson. Cruz and Rubio's comments about the mainstream media were probably the highlights of the debate.

  • I didn't watch it, but I saw Stephen Colbert's summary of it. The questions were so bad that it actually ended up being unintentionally hilarious. I kind of wish I caught the whole thing now.

The Biggest Loser of the CNBC Debate Was Everyone

  • Terrible terrible questions by arrogant moderators. It's a bad night when Ted Cruz comes out of it looking like a decent human being.

  • CNBC crapped the bed. They had plenty of time to come up with reasonable questions but somehow all they could think up was different variations of 'X happened, it was bad. Why are you not a dick?' Pathetic. They didn't even think to have an audio cue to let the candidates know when they were out of time so it immediately devolved into people talking over each other.

  • I am not american so I didnt watch this. What exactly is this?

It's a Republican party debate for the office of President of the United States that was moderated by the US cable network, CNBC. The problem is the moderators did a poor job, asked really bad questions, and the whole thing ended up being unintentionally hilarious as a result. Watch the summary video by Stephen Colbert that I linked above for the highlights (for example, one of the goofiest questions involved asking Donald Trump if he was running his campaign like a comic book).

It was obviously kind of terrible. I would say that either Rubio or Christie "won" the debate, but that's only because it more or less just ended up being a free for all, on top of multiple stupid questions being asked.

  • Trump's and Kasich's exchange at the beginning was pretty hilarious.

  • Kasich came off really whiny, it made him look really bad. He isn't that great of a governor. He taxes my smokes a extra dollar.

I thought a lot of people won .

I think that Trump needs to stop mixing his signals because he is going to get in trouble for supporting those OverSea Work Visas. That is serious bullshit BTW, why aren't they hiring Americans to do American Jobs, you know why... Because it's cheaper. Mark Zuckerman needs every dime he gets, he can't toss any pocket change back to the rest of us 99. Trump will lose steam if he starts saying, these illegals can stay, but the rest got to go. Just my opinion.

I thought Huckabee did really well. Especially addressing SS. I think he made some points there.

The only person i thought bombed the debate other than the mods were Jeb, and Kasich.

  • Makes sense, when you get cancer as a senior you'll probably become a burden on the Medicare system.

Then they should start taxing processed meats because they cause cancer. Also sugars, plus 100 other food additives.

  • Yeah, A) they should tax those things, and B) food is different from recreational drugs. Nobody is forcing you to smoke.

  • "In October 2011, Denmark introduced a fat tax on butter, milk, cheese, pizza, meat, oil and processed food if the item contains more than 2.3% saturated fat.[26] However, in November 2012, the Danish Tax Ministry announced it would abolish the fat tax,[27] stating that it failed to change Danes' eating habits, had encouraged cross border trading, put Danish jobs at risk and had been a bureaucratic nightmare for producers and outlets.[27][28] The proposed sugar tax plans were also scrapped.[29]

Mette Gjerskov, the Danish minister of food, agriculture and fisheries, stated that "the fat tax is one of the most criticized we had in a long time. Now we have to try to improve public health by other means.” Although the tax resulted in an additional $216 million in revenue"

Quoted from Wikipedia Fat Tax. Yeah it will never happen in America... Right... People don't tell you how to live your life in this country. They're perfectly fine with you making the choices you make.

Am i right mr fellow smoker?

Once again, it's a false equivilency.

    Carcinogenic Drugs =/= Food

States should tax cigarettes and use a portion of the revenue to subsidize smoking cessation medicine (like Chantix), so that the under-insured can get it.

  • Not really because people will find ways to justify taxes.

There was a study recently that just proved the link between processed meats and cancer.

  • I gotta say after watching a few reports on the debates... well, I don't really care, as I am Canadian, but it sure strikes me the Republican candidates are ridiculously weak.

They act like they were oppressed and treated unfairly but the Democratic debate had very similar tough questions. You're trying to be president, and you can't even stand up for yourself without bitching on Fox news about how it's "unfair." It reeks of hypocritical weakness, in my eyes.

No one is really complaining that the questions were "tough". The questions were just terrible.

  • Well Canada has their own problems they elected a guy with no experience to run the country based on his legacy.

  • This. Some of those questions were so cringeworthy. Especially since I was led to believe it would be a policy-centric debate.

People don't want to know what they're candidates stand for anymore, they want a show. It's pretty sad.

  • People in Canada complain that their money is going down in value, You know how many threads i saw on Steam about the canadians complaining it costs ten more maple syrup dollars than before. Gabe needs that extra Big N Tasty.
