If you could choose only 1 character to make an appearance in Chapter 2...

Murray gets my vote with Stan following up. They both got their mention in the game but didn't appear lol.

Hmmm I'd say Guybrush Threepwood :D

PS: Ok Beat me up I deserve it

    Guybrush of course.
  • edited July 2009
Well I'd like to say, besides the ones that we already saw in Chapter 1 to avoid any confusion...

I always wanted to see more of Captain Rottingham... He was a decent secondary villain in CMI, and I think he would make a nice antagonist in a future game. I believe he probably wouldn't sail the seven seas just to have revenge over Guybrush, but if their paths were to cross again, he certainly wouldn't waste a good opportunity to kick Guybrush's butt :D

Haha yeah Rottingham was classic should have put him in the poll! It would be a pleasant surprise to find him in your travels

I don't get this poll. The obvious answer would be GT. I thought maybe you meant characters from previous games but were not in ep1, but then I saw De Singe as an option. It could have been, which characters in this list would you like to see in ep2, but there is an "other" option. Where is the line where you would count a character too obvious choice, and therefore ignore them as an option and not click "other" (GT would obviously be one. Would Elaine, LeChuck, and Voodoo Lady also be in this catagory?) I'm confused.

Wally.... he always has useful stuff to give.... er steal. Plus he is always really funny in that pathetic, only character more sissy than Guybrush..... Followed closely by Murray and then Stan.

One weird frensh guy is enough. ;-)
  • i think old characters should only be brought back if the game 'accomodates' them. otherwise they're spoiled a bit like Murray in EMI who seemed very forced-in. It would be good to see Murray in a 'darker chapter' with a scab island atmosphere.

Of the above choices I would vote for Cpt. Smirk, but voted instead for "some other character" as I think new characters would be best for chapter 2, until an old island is revisited

You're way over-thinking this. Just go with it... :p

Stan because so far it's the fifth and last character we have seen in every MI with Guybrush, Elaine, LeChuck and Voodoo Lady !

    I miss Stan!

Largo LeGrande. We never did find out what happened to him.

I love the tune of Dread and his Jamaican accent. And I would like to see the flag of his Jolly Rasta.

I would like to see the men of Low Moral Fibre return. They always leant some colour to the islands they inhabited.

I want Kate Capsize to get her revenge. I have done ever since MI2, but it never happens :-(

I'd prefer to avoid as many characters that were originally from Curse and Escape as possible. In fact, repeat as few as possible from anywhere. I want an awesome new cast.

I'd love to see the Men of Low Moral Fiber return. Go figure.

    Men of Low Moral Fibre
    Murray
    Wally
    Largo
    Cobb
    Strongbad
    Sam and Max
    And Mancomb Seepgood

I would like to see them in the trial scene. And yes I guess their will be a trial scene with the competition and all. I bet we have about 4 second clips of various pirates saying a single line. Seeing all these characters would be great.

    But for Chapter 2?

Well a cameo from another Telltale game would be good. Kate Capsize or Wally.

Murray and Stan are already shoe-ins, so I went for Wally. However I do really want to see the Men of Low Moral Fiber back; can't stress that enough. They were my favorite characters in the first part of LeChuck's Revenge and Secret; possibly all of Revenge actually.

I mean just look at what retirement has done to them! Okay they're the same as before, but that's why we love them right? Okay I love them, but honestly, those were some great characters Lucasarts shoved into the closet there.

Murray and Stan will be in the game - beyond that the only character the series really should revisit is Largo. He was very compelling and he's such a loose end.

Men of Low Morale Fiber would be good too actually but I wouldn't be heartbroken if they weren't in it.

I want to see Murray, The barbers (particularly Haggis lol), Stan, and the cannibals.

I would like to see Largo and the Men Of Low Moral Fibre (Hereby known as MOLMF :P) and all the rest, they're great characters. I don't know if I want to see that doctor again, his makeup makes me feel a bit ill!

    Murray

    MUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

    He was always so awesome.

It's not certain that Murray will be in Chapter 2 - around this time last month voices were being recorded for Chapter 2, so it's more likely that he's recording for Chapter 3 unless they're now adding more stuff into Chapter 2 (such as Murray) that needs voices. Time will tell.

Wally, but I'd also like to see Carla, the barber pirates, Otis, Meathook and Stan again.

    Murray, my favorite demonic skull.
  • edited July 2009
I wanna see the shop keeper who was macking on Carla.

I already said Kate Capsize, but I want to elaborate.

I don't want her to be
    the mysterious voice
. I don't think that would work well, and it almost certainly isn't anyway.

I want any return characters to be really in-place where they are. That means that people like a shopkeeper on Melee Island, or a barkeep, or somebody like that, is absolutely pointless on a new island on a new story.
That said, I can see characters such as Stan, Murray and the Voodoo Lady in any new game because they're traditionally drifters with no home-location per-se. Kate Capsize works here for me, too, because she wants revenge and there's a bad lack of female characters in Monkey Island. She has a motivation to have moved, whereas other characters would have to have motivations invented especially for moving them, which seems too contrived. I'm enjoying seeing new guys like Nipperkin, Winslow, etc. Even if the portrayal of them in the ToMI artwork-style isn't great for making them memorable (i'd love to see some of the concept art). The pirates of low moral fiber are the perfect throwaway for an empty-looking street corner (that's effectively what they were in MI1 and MI2) and are effectively drifters, so they would compliment the new cast.

Largo, for me, had his day. I don't want to see him until LA have done their take on him, because I would feel safer having LA cast voices etc. due to their larger budget. Largo could work in a few instances, but he's really a small-boss to the big-boss LeChuck and therefore I feel he was a superb character in MI2, and one of the differences making it the best MI ever, but not particularly a stand-out character if you take him out of his original environment.

Just my personal view on it.

BOB! I always loved Bob and never could bring myself to spray him with rootbeer... he's just so... adorable. It makes me sad that he's never reappeared because damnit, he's cool!

Failing that, Men of Low Moral fibre could be amusing for old times sake.
