Welllllll, Torrhen's just on his way home and heard the noises Ryon was making while he was trying to see where the voices were coming from. He hasn't actually noticed Ryon, and probably believed one of his men who said it was 'probably just an animal'.
So, those are House Whitehill's words, eh? "Ever Higher". Hmm, I wonder why that wasn't included in the season finale? Let alone the entire season to begin with.
I don't think it really suits them. Sounds too...optimistic, I guess is the word? Maybe it's intentional irony or something.
Someone here once suggested "Our Hills are Barren" as a motto. Doesn't make a lot of sense to boast about your shortcomings, but I've always felt that suits them best--it sounds sort of bitter and resentful, in the way the Whitehills are shown to be over the loss of their "share" of the ironwood.

Here's some bonus content in the form of an info dump. The game never told us the full story, so I decided to write out my own ideas of how the Forresters and Whitehills began, and how their relationship changed over time.

Once bitten, twice shy, I think. He's probably gonna stay as far away from them as possible XD
Part 44 (Guess who overslept again? This guy!)
Seven Hells. Now Torrhen's after Ryon, too?
I do like the cloak that Beskha's wearing now. At least she won't be freezing there in the north anymore.
Also, better late than never.

Yes! I'm in love. I always thought that Beskha wouldn't coddle Ryon, and that some would see it as harsh.
Part 45 (Ryon has what I like to call the 'Branfield Rage')
I wonder who's that "someone" that could fight them all
Well, there's two 'someones', but one of them is... y'know... dead.
Is Amaya alive in your AU?
Asher?
She died the same way as in canon.
Yes please ! This must be Rodrik.
Btw I just noticed Beskha only has one sword: did you forget to add it or is there an explanation ?
It was accidental.
Part 46 (Hooray, yet another POV!)
Finally, I've been waiting a long time for his POV!
I just have a question : Is he alone ?
Oh shit! Rodrik's back. Almost didn't recognize him in his disguise. Hope he kicks those whitehill thugs' arses.
Yep, he's alone. Had to perform some hardcore self-surgery before this point - but it's been a solid 3 or 4 months since the Siege.
I hope he still has that haircut of his.
On an unrelated note, guess who found the official words for House Whitehill in the voice files today?

Don't worry, I haven't changed too much about ol' Roddy.
Great then.

I love the whole loading screen transition you added when it switched to Rodrik.
Part 47 (Rodrik is slightly more... angry than we remember him.)
Oh my, after-siege Rodrik is a goddamn badass.
He looks different... You made him different or am I imagining things? xD
Rodrik's ready to kick some Whitehill ass!
His hair's a bit more messy, he has bags under his eyes and his scars have tidied up just a tiny bit more.
Yes! I love the angry, ruthless Rodrik.
Part 48 (I'm on time for once - what is this black magic?)
QTE's
Nice attention to details (ie; the huge tear in the fabric + bandage)
One down, two to go.

Is this actually Canon?
If it is then it is awesome!
There isn't a canon explanation, so it's just me filling in the gaps.
Nicely done, pal.
That's awesome!
P.S. Out of curiosity, who of the two guys is Gerhard, the left or the right one?
