Pyro, mentally handicapped or he was born with a mind that could see other things?

This topic has been talked about since meet the pyro came out in 2012, in addition, the pyrovision goggles, can let us see some thing that pyro can see, that the other classes that see normally, so as his gender (that has nothing to do, since all the other classes are male)

So whats your opinion?
Mentally handicapped, or genetically he/she can see things that other classes can't see

    Both he (referring to the Pyro as a "he" out of mere convenience and habit) and Soldier are both crazy, in different ways. I'm not sure if it was explained in the lore, but I'm pretty sure that the Soldier is like this due to PTSD. Like, a hilariously lethal form of PTSD.

    I'm guessing it's the same with the Pyro. He probably suffered an event that really changed his life, leading to an affliction for fire.
