RE: LeChuck Is Human
Several years ago, I lurked on a forum which speculated on LeChuck's form in the next Monkey Island Game. I read some clever responses but no one ever guessed that LeChuck would become human again.
This is creative! This is unexpected. And, finally, this was a great joke, in light of what LeChuck admitted to Guybrush a moment earlier, "Evil takes on many forms!" That it took on a human form is both funny and frightening (concerning what it says about us as a species). And it presents an interesting hope for the Gilbertists.
To wit: MI fanatics can be categorized in two groups: "Those who accept Guybrush and Elaine's love" and "those who cry that Elaine doesn't and never should love Guybrush."
I see the outcome of this game catering to the latter loud-mouths. Remember, when LeChuck turned human, Elaine said, "WOOF!" which all women will recognize as an expression of fond appreciation regarding a man's physique. She also said earlier that LeChuck's advances would be flattering if he weren't dead. Now ... Elaine and LeChuck, both human, are on a sinking ship. We see this at the end of the teaser.
I imagine LeChuck saving Elaine from doom and slowly winning her affections in a way that he couldn't as the undead. We may see an unexpected cliffhanger at the end of this 5-episode mission in the form of Elaine facing a love triangle. (and why not? Everything in the MI series is done in 3s).
To sum: I think Elaine will leave Guybrush for LeChuck and serve as a tidbit of uncertainty, whetting our appetite for the next game. I think that in episode 5, we will see the second biggest cliffhanger we've ever seen.
