stuck on character appearance screen

I'm using xbox one and after playing the first 2 episodes, I am stuck on the character appearance page, it just keeps asking me to choice appearance.
any suggestions or similar issues.
I did see this issue on PC but not on xbox one season pass disc.

    I have the same problem after coming back to resume the game in the middle of episode 1. Can;t get past the choose an appearance screen. Tried restarting the console a couple of times and logging back in, but to no avail...
