Sera is Oedipus Rex?
Lord Tarwick looks quite a bit older than Sera, could him being her father feasibly be within the realm of possibility? Also, what does he say, when you try to defend Sera
("..but she's a nice girl.."). Sill though in my opinion, I feel its best for my Mira to lie, it's not her (my) secret to tell, I'd just tell Sera to tell him the truth before it's too late.
But if you tell him the truth, maybe you're actually doing her a solid since you've managed to avert disaster.

Or more feasibly - Sera has an Electra complex - the gender inverted counterpart to a male's Oedipus complex - the lack of a father figure in Mira's life makes her subconsciously desire Lord Tarwick as a compensation, a desire which manifests itself sexually on the surface but only because she craves closeness with an older male.
Maybe she wants to marry him since he's a Lord and she'll get power and her babies will have power? Since she's a bastard and therefore doesn't have any power, she wants some for herself by marrying Tarwick, and since Tarwick's pretty old she might see him as a bit more desperate.
