Do you think One of Season 2's Endings is All It's Cracked Up to Be?

Sorry for the somewhat vague title, I wanted to be as spolier-free in it as possible
Please note, this is my first forum post and I absolutely apologize to anyone who has come up with this idea before I did.

Anyways, moving along
I had completed Season 2 about 1 1/2 months ago and had made the choice to stay at Wellington with just AJ and I.

However, those of you who had played the game noticed that when Kenny strikes a deal with Edith (the woman who was at the front gates), to let just Clementine and AJ in, Edith leaves for a second to come back to say "I made the case that---" then is cut off by Kenny
This leaves me to believe that Clementine may have to pay back the community by potentially some kind of community service Clementine will have to do.

Also, Edith says Wellington is over-capacity, and the more people (i.e. Clementine) who come in are more likely to be stigmatized by current residents for overflowing the settlement.

One final bit, is that we don't know what kind of government Wellington has, democratic, totalitarian, etc. and how they enforce justice. The government would highly influence what life could be like inside the walls

  • i think its perfect. it could temporarily complete clementine's story so telltale can focus on new characters. cant keep having clementine running around with people dying around her forever. she's gotta settle down sometime.

  • Why do you say that? In TWD comics/tv show there are characters that survived since day 1 and still have people dying around them.

yeah but the show and comics still have a hundred characters. in the game there is like 3 characters left 2 if you kill both adults. and 2 of them are a 12 year old and a baby xD they need a break once in a while xD

  • Not if they reinvolve Wellington, an incident there has the potential to recruit tons of characters for the series. But I'm with you about them needing a break, they can be NPCs but I'm done playing as Clem for now.

  • yeah im cool with playing as clementine for like a season 4 but maybe what they could do is have season 3 contain new characters so then if they make a season 4 it could show like 3-4 years later or something and clementine is more grown up and aj is a toddler instead of an infant and you can talk to the kid and even tell him about his parents and he can wear the hat and shit. and then wellington has trouble and any survivors from season 3 can team up with clem as like a final season and we can play as clem again but now she is 16 rather than a 12 year old child. that would be awesome.

  • Well that's why I stayed with Kenny in the end for a few reasons.

One, At that point I decided that I was going to stay with Kenny until the end after all we went through

and two, We dont know anything about Wellington, we know its safe, but Clem being in there alone without an adult could end horribly.

  • I doubt Wellington is going to be some cosy safe haven, it'd make for a pretty boring series 3 lol. From what we've seen I don't think its a dictatorship... My guess is that it'll get over run with walkers early on in the game, and we'll be surviving with others we met earlier in wellington

  • I have faith in Clementine's luck and resourcefulness, she will get through whatever hardship Wellington has to offer.

Disagree jackman117. In the comics/tv show, it would not be the walking dead without Rick and in my opinion the game would not be the walking dead without Clementine. I hope Clementine is around for a very long time. What i would like in season 3 is for new characters to not all be killed off or leave by the end of the game like in season 2. I feel as though any new characters should survive into another season to further develop them, even if there is enough development of them in season 3

  • If Clementine has to pitch in and help within reason, then so be it. In fact I probably would prefer it compared to just sitting around taking care of AJ. No doubt some shit will go down and Wellington will be left behind for some reason, but at least Clem will do her fair share (if the game let's us).

  • who joins a community in a post apocalypse environment and expects not to have to work to live there. you are making out as if community service would be a bad thing, when actually it would just be good for everybody there.

I think Wellington's going to be a peaceful settlement, then it gets attacked by bandits and everything gets ruined
