Season 3

I hope they take the time to make a tightly written story with no lame ideas like bringing Kenny back...
I just want to see them top the original one.

  • I hope they take their time to ensure our season 2 endings actually matter, even if it's just for one episode which includes bringing Kenny back might I add. And hopefully Telltale don't go for the obvious tear jerking ending by killing Clementine off.

  • Oh thank goodness, I thought this was another thread to bitch about the release of S3 and yes I agree with you.

  • Firstly, agreed they should make a tight story with a unified vision! While the multiendings should provide our start point! Secondly, sadly for us, Clem is on a "Heros Journey" which often end the way Lee's did! That said it would need to be one Epic death to be accepted by Clem fans! No bit by an obivious Lurker. No Arvo's Revenge type scene. Just Clem to the rescue finally does her in. But her sacrifice must end the series if they do it! Have her die for the cure! anything less would suck! Yes I Know you most likley need Ricks group for this. Nuff said.

  • I do think Telltale will probably end Clem's story by having her echo Lee's sacrifice to save someone dear to her, recovering her humanity in the process and maybe even finding inner peace, etc....

But I DO want Clem to lose her humanity, to become a cynical misanthrope whose more at home around the dead than real people, to turn her into an anti-heroine of sorts, for whom only her memories of Lee represent the last fragments of her former self.
Plus I want revenge on Arvo no matter what, he must pay for shooting Clementine and getting away with it (not to mention his part in breaking up what remained of the Cabin Group) - oh my god what am I saying, didn't I once make a thread about forgiving Arvo... no, I'm sure I actually want sweet sadistic revenge... but then again that would leave me feeling hollow inside afterwards, maybe its better not to give up hope on humanity and offer Arvo mercy, to be the better person, maybe even make him an ally, proving that Clem doesn't have to lose her humanity....

    No, revenge first, reflections later.

Also Season 3 better have multiple openings of course.

  • That idea about Clem becoming a cynical survivalist is pretty interesting.

I still think Telltale have upped their game in regards to this. TFTB, GoT, and even Minecraft have all been pretty good story-wise. You can argue about how much you like the stories personally, but as a whole, they're pretty cohesive and tight-knit. GoT had a few slip-ups, especially with episode 5, but for the most part the story was consistent. Not to mention the pushes they've made towards more choice-tailoring. They've been getting better at making more unique scenes, outcomes, character exchanges and the likes based on choices. Again, it's not perfect and they do have some slip-ups still, but they're definitely trying to improve in that regard.

I don't feel that S2 was bad, but I feel that it unfortunately ended up in the middle of a kind of transitionary phase at Telltale. It got the receiving end of a lot of experiments and changes within the company and within their formula altogether. I guess we'll get a better idea how S3 will turn out when Michonne releases later. But I have a lot of hope.

I hope they bring Kenny back. He's still not dead for some of us. I don't think bringing Kenny back was a lame idea for season 2. I thought it was interesting seeing how he has changed and how he's gotten tougher and how he cares about Clem so much now. He pretty much carried season 2 on his own. He has made a huge impact on the entire series. I have high hopes for season 3 considering the long ass wait and how we have no info on it. I hope they don't kill off Clementine. That would be so cheap of telltale to just make her universally adored like they have and then just kill her off. God that would be awful. Ending Clem's story would be like ending Ricks story. I know it eventually has to end but there are other ways to end other than her dying.
