Star Wars has returned... (not what you may think)
Yesterday I came across something that literally broke me into absolute tears. It seems a large group of dedicated fans to Star Wars became tired of Lucas Film utter and absolute refusal to redo and clean up the original films and sell them to market. When I mean originals I mean literally the original versions of the films before they started adding CGI effects, changing and add new scenes in the Special Editions. They're even trying to restore the original feel of the films as well right down to the colors and sound. I already watched the first film and I was so heart broken. I've not seen the original Star Wars film outside of the special edition since I was a child... I cried. Their attention to detail is just so heart warming. I can not help but wonder why Lucas Films can not respect their original work as much as these people. It is literally a cultural crime what Lucas Film has done over the years with the original Star Wars.

Now I'm not going to tell anyone how to find these films, but they have a Despecialized Edition for all 3 of the originals now.

I am not sure, but does the Return of the Jedi have the original ending but with the Special Edition music?
The ending with the strange Yap Yap song is hard for me to swallow.
Rights are very murky on this front due to the split of rights ownership for the films. 20th Century Fox still owns the distribution rights to the original trilogy, so Disney's not going to make the expense to have Lucasfilm and ILM make a remaster of the original versions of the films while the proceeds made from their effort goes into Fox's pocket. Not even the laserdisc quality version will likely ever get released on DVD and Blu-Ray, as Fox has shown no interest in re-issuing the original versions of the trilogy themselves.
Until Disney can ever get the distribution rights from Fox (which is not likely as the the length of their distribution rights for A New Hope are infinite, which is something that they wouldn't want to give up for such a hot property), I wouldn't really expect the original versions of the films to ever be re-released again, unfortunately.
From what I've seen nothing special edition exist on any of them. So ya the original ending to Return of the Jedi it is. Even Boba Fetts original voice on Empire Strikes Back has been restored.
Personally doesn't excuse butchering the films like they've been doing. Deals can always be made, as long as Fox gets paid... I think a remastered Collectors Edition would be possible. Most die heart fans would pay more than normal market Price for a DVD and Blu-Ray for a restored original trilogy, without the Special Edition. I mean Bandai is doing it with their Gundam The Origin Prequel series making a special mini series for collectors and fans, not exactly mainstream audiences. 1 hour long episodes $99 to $106 USD price per episode. But Origin is made for collectors and die heart fans who are willing to pay such a price for it, not mass market.
Disney does get the full rights to The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in 2020 (as well as the full rights to The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith). It's possible that they'll do something with it at that point, as they'll be able to get 66% of the profits then. Right now, any money made would go into Fox's pocket, which wouldn't make sense for Disney to have Lucasfilm and ILM go through the expense to do a remaster of the original versions, as they wouldn't get any profit from it for four years (and it's highly doubtful that they'd go through the trouble to make a deal now, as it would give Fox more than Disney would want, when they'll get the rights to all but one of the original films, completely, a mere 47 months from now).
That is interesting, I believe I have never heard his original voice.
And a shame with the ending, I hope that they might at least kept that music in.
I dunno I personally love the original Return of the Jedi ending, the Special Edition it was just way over the top. Plus Wedge has more screen time on the original ending than the Special Edition and he deserved it for his role in all 3 films.
Ya the guy who voiced and played the original Boba Fett also shows up as an Imperial Officer in Empire Strikes Back as well, as rumor suggest because the guy who was meant to play that roll didn't show up that day, he is the guy dragging Laia off around the corner as she yells trying to warn Luke in Cloud city.. the blonde officer.

It is cool that you like the original ending with the original music.
But the ending with the Special Edition music was the one I grew up watching.
Well Boba Fett's original voice is interesting.
I don't think Lucas ruined the films, the changes really aren't that major...and it was his own creative work, he can do whatever he likes with it.
I find its interest, not annoyance, seeing the changes between the editions,
Well, I actually don't mind the changes he did in A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. But two major changes in Return of the Jedi are the ones that I feel really disappointed with.
The original version, Luke saw his dad as an elderly man. I love that version, because Anakin has been redeemed and he is looking at his children with pride and love. In the altered version, Luke see a young Anakin played by Hayden Christensen. It just didn't hit me emotionally. But who knows, I might grow to accept that version, if Hayden returns to play the ghost of Anakin in Episode 8 and 9, and he is given better direction by better directors.
The other change I dislike are the one where Luke is getting electrocuted by the Emperor. In the original version, Vader didn't say anything as he watched his son getting tortured to death, but it was clear that he was conflicted about it. Then he simply pick the Emperor up and threw him down the pit. In the altered version, he shout "Noooo!" as he kill the Emperor. I just prefer the version where Vader didn't say anything, as actions speak louder than words and it is more emotional that way.
Just giving my reasons why I don't like these two changes.
You can also argue replacing the original actors/characters who originally played those roles is heart breaking and insulting. lol
Fair enough.
