Steam/GOG save file compatibility

Dear Telltale Games, dear The Walking Dead fans,

hi, I'm Josh, new to the forums and have been an avid Telltale fan since first playing "Sam & Max" on the Wii in 2008 (the port was rather atrocious, but I later purchased all seasons for PC ;-) ).

Moreover, I had bought and completed all previous The Walking Dead games on Steam, but now intend to switch to DRM-free whenever possible/convenient.

So, my question:
Are the save files of the Steam and GOG editions of TWD cross-compatible? Let's say I'll purchase Season 3 on GOG in the future -- would I be able to import the choices from Season 2 (Steam)?

The same question basically applies to the upcoming "Michonne" release.
I know that Telltale has currently no plans for the choices made in previous seasons to carry over to "Michonne". But what if they did change their mind (e.g. last min. before release or sometime down the road)? Could I import my Steam saves to the GOG build?

    My bad, I had searched the forums before but didn't come up with anything related to my issue, but now I may have found something:

    Your save games should still work with your non-Steam version. If you are having save troubles, please make sure the Season1 save data is in the proper file location for your computer to locate it.

    So, I guess I should be fine?
    However, I'll take this info with a grain of salt for now, since the OP's situation was that he had bought Season 1 on Steam, and Season 2 via TTG account. Thus, I'm not sure whether the same solution applies to Steam versus GOG.

    Maybe one of the devs/mods could kindly chime in on the matter?
