Did you know that not every country lives like we do in America?
I thought that everybody lived like we do in America but this website said that other countries have just started living like Americans recently. It says that if everybody tries living like Americans have been living for years that the environment is going to suffer. I am hoping that it is going to be a really long time before the environment starts to suffer. Is there a way to find out how much one person has harmed the environment in their lifetime? I read these websites and they say that everything someone does hurts the environment. I just wonder how much the environment has been harmed because of the way I lived my life. I bet with how big the problem is what I do does not make a difference. Even if I lived in a way that did not hurt the environment I bet it would not help. I bet right this minute there are millions of people filling their cars up with gas. Right now I bet there are billions of lights left on. Right now there are millions of people who do not recycle. Right now there are billions of people who are buying stuff they do not need. Why should I change my wasteful lifestyle when it wont make a difference?

So you're basically saying this, and that this is what the whole world is becoming? D= What do you expect from the concept of Capitalism? It is built upon human greed, fueled by greed. Even a lot of Communist and Socialist Countries are becoming Capitalist, heck look at China. xD

I have a feeling this thread will become filled with cringe.
Individuals can't fix global warming. The only thing that can save us is radical systemic change.
Someones feeling a tad dramatic.
The OP already is.
This thread is most definitely bait.
I hope not I love getting paid to go to college instead of debt I get richer education Is awesome in my country
You beat me to it. Damn!
An upvote to thee, though.
Don't worry all those For Profit Hospitals/Clinics and Colleges make America Strong!!!
Make a profit and guarantee the best jobs for the rich instead of the most intelligent. But yes make America strong and gives more money for the military budget. Don't educate people teach them to kill and die for oil XD priorities in check

The only thing I hate really is the Gun Culture. The only ever american news I hear is shootings and police brutality.
I live in the Netherlands and I don't have a gun.
Prayforlegalguns
Reeeeeaaaaallyyyy?
Would've never figured it out.
In other news: grass is green, the sky is blue, dalmatians have spots, and Donald Trump's hair piece looks like something that died on the side of the road.
Wut
I was being sarcastic if you didn't notice. Just saying. I hate the system personally. Hospitals, Clinics, Schools, personally none of it should be for profit or privately owned in my opinion. We need more wealthy people donating to them as well to help keep them running. There was a period in American history which college was very cheap. But there was also a period where million and billionaires donated large sums to colleges to insure tuition would stay low to boot.
There is a lot less of it today, and they'd rather donate to charity organizations to get a tax right off....... wow seriously? Why not just tax them and give that extra money to charity? No seriously if the tax right off is enough to convince them to donate to charity then obviously they're making more money by donating to charity that it's pointless to give them a tax right off to do so... we might as well just tax them and then have the government donate a Percent of that Tax to charity. lol
Close enough :P

I smell bait.
Is that so? I thought that our population here in Australia was made up of a bunch of racist nutters that get crazed over a stupid sport once every year, of whom are led by politicians that get into power through dirty means.
................wait a minute.
(If you could not tell, I am joking)
I'm shocked. :P
Damn, my troll meter is off the charts!
I was board and I remembered this and thought it was suitable.

Posted in the wrong place; see above.
That tank reeks of 'Murica.
Please tell me youre being sarcastic! You're not honestly surprised by this, are you? Unfortunately it's pretty widely known that most people do not live as we do here in America. People in third world countries often earn less than a dollar a day. Children in third world countries often times go to bed hungry, and outright starve. And in places like South Africa for example where tribal warfare is highly prevalent, a woman can end up being raped multiple times a day because she is of a tribe that is different than the guerilla party who is coming through and raiding her village. And over in places like South Africa, the locals are practicing slavery, by enslaving members of their own race in a diamond mines at the have down there
Of course, it's not just people in third world countries that are suffering. There are many people right here in the USA that are suffering, in fact I heard a report recently that stated that one in six children goes to bed hungry here in this country. Veterans, people who fought for the freedom of all Americans, many are living on the streets because the government refuses to take care of them, and take care of them properly. Many people here in America live below minimum wage and you can just barely afford to feed their families. And unwanted babies, are being thrown away in the garbage, by young girls who were not prepared for the challenges of motherhood. And children, are being sold oftentimes to sex traffickers, who used and abused these children for all they're worth.
And like in a lot of third world countries, in America the government is run by corrupt greedy politicians who don't give a damn about anybody else except themselves and what they can get. And so often times, the people who are elected to lead this country make all sorts of grand promises, but then as soon as they get into office, they become more concerned about their about keeping their job instead of actually doing their jobs, and thus do only just enough so as not to piss anybody off, because a pissed off somebody won't vote for him. It is a ridiculous, damn stupid games that these asshole politicians play while people suffer.
And even when there are sincere people who are not office, they end up having to fight the ones who are corrupt. For example, the President of the United States may indeed be commander in chief and even if he sincerely wants to do good by the people, but in order to get legislation passed, he has the first one up by Congress, who could reject it for all sorts of different reasons. And that severely hampers any kind of good he might try to accomplish. So with that being said unfortunately, the president is just a symbol of power, but not much more than that. To put it in layman's terms, the president is just a giant figurehead!
And, there are many alive today, here in this country who seemingly do not want a moral structure of any kind. They wanna be able to do exactly what they want to do, and if anyone dares to say that what they are doing is morally wrong or offensive, then they immediately demonize that person, and try to silence them. The problem is that without a moral structure of any kind, then you no longer have a standard from which to draw conclusions. Without a standard of morality, you no longer have a civilized society, but rather anarchy. When you have people in government who are not willing to enforce the laws, especially the laws that they don't happen to agree with, you have chaos.
Many like to call things like global warming, or terrorism, as being the biggest threats to our country, as well as humanity. But the truth is is that the biggest threat to humanity is in fact man's greed and selfishness. as long as greed and selfishness are the order of the day, humanity will be on a continual downhill spiral that is not stopped soon, will in fact destroy the world. consumerism, is in fact the biggest means of selfishness and greed, and one that is destroying our plant. I forget how long that they said but by the year 2050 I believe, that they said to continue to live as we do now, we would need 12 earths in order to do it.
Yeah, well, I remember this:
Actually, no, I'm not that old.
rip in peace, OP's intelligence.
Well that is how American gamers think when they jump into a WWII video game. But this is the actual reality of it.

Terrorism is a bigger threat than the planet warming up.
