Resident evil 2 is getting Remastered for Ps4

Resident evil 2 is my favourite out of them all, so it's great news, what's your thoughts people. Oh yeah resident evil 4,5,6 are also in the way but I'm not sure if there getting remastered.

  • That's cool. I wish the first Silent Hill game would get remastered too.

    1. It is a Remake not Remastered. They're literally remaking the game from the ground up.
    2. Resident Evil 0 Remake came out late last year on multiple platforms so Resident Evil 2 likely will be multi platform as well, if anything a Ps4 timed exclusive.

Whoa! They're really doing that? That's awesome. :D

Well honestly more RE fans consider Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 the best of the franchise, for completely different reasons. RE2 being the best of the "original" style, and RE4 just being pure fun, ie RE4 even the devs didn't take it seriously and had fun with it, I mean it had a shooting range, and a merchant, and funny jokes like looking up a skirt and getting scolded, just pure fun. RE1 was well RE1, RE2 was just awesome and RE3 well ya... it was disappointing in most people's opinions. lol

So it is understandable that Capcom would go that length. Hopefully they don't change the gameplay too much. if they change the gameplay at all. Though you can likely think they will in some way.

  • I actually liked Resident Evil Remake so I'm interested to see what they can do with this one

  • Cool. Always wanted to play RE2 but I never got around to it. This could give me an excuse.

  • It is good, personally only Resident Evil 2 and 3 felt like survival horror games personally. Resident Evil 1 and Zero felt like Horror crime solving games. Resident Evil 4 felt like the Mel Brooks Resident Evil game in all the best ways.. Resident Evil 5 & 6 were just, Resident Evil 4 fast pace action but they took it way too seriously in the process and well made it even more action like. Resident Evil 2 there was a clear objective of just getting the heck out of Racoon City, similar to how Resident Evil 4 it was just a rescue mission gone crazy. Out of all the Resident Evil games, I think Resident Evil 2 was the only one that actually had moments that made me feel insanely sad to. Being the game takes place after the city is already over run. Resident Evil 3 had it's moments as well but personally RE2 was just better in general. lol

Yeah, it's my favorite too. Has the best atmosphere and survival mechanics being that it is one of the few Resident Evil games you can actually run out of ammo in and become completely screwed if you decided to mow down everything. Hopefully the RE2 remake is just as good.

  • For me, Resident Evil 3 suffered from being way too linear in comparison to RE1 and RE2. The game was constantly pushing you forward into new areas due to the Nemesis mechanic and those areas weren't anything truly memorable (except for the clock tower) as a result of this. I think if it were to be remade from the ground up they could fix these issues and make it the game it should have been all those years ago now.

Huh... maybe I'll actually be able to get a new (kind of) RE title this time around. Pretty much all my life, I've either never had the right system for new RE games coming out, or just didn't have the money for them, the last one being the PS2 and Code Veronica. I've never experienced the first remake, but have heard how awesome it is time and again, so hopefully, this one lives up to it.

I also echo the sentiment of wishing for a Silent Hill remake as well. Hell, just make the graphics and voice acting better. The music and sound design barely have to change, and certainly don't need improvement, per se. Never gonna happen, of course, but oh well.

  • Here's hoping that the remake keeps the spirit of the original and follow the footsteps of the REmake/REmaster. Hell, I don't even mind if they even borrow elements from Resident Evil 4.

But no more of that Michael Bay 6 nonsense, thank you.
