Battlefield making world war 1 game
Reports are coming in that Battlefield are making a world war 1 game also known as the great war, sounds interesting to say the least. Besides I'm getting tired of playing online games set in the future all the time, what's your thoughts people.

The Great War! Likely because of the success of the almost Red Orchestra style Verdun.
That being said, such a game would be a pain for anyone in a vehicle. Imagine tanks that crawl, and airplanes so fragile that stones can bring them down. hehe
I hate ES, but that sounds pretty cool. I'm tired of WW2 and WW3 at this point.
Awesome! World War I has great opportunities that go beyond trench warfare, I hope they explore some of them.
It would also be awesome to see a game that includes the "Polar Bear Expedition" when the U.S. and Japan invaded Siberia to fight the Red Army.
You're late on the band wagon then. Been playing them since the 1990s. =3
If this game ends up being a success I'm willing to be other companies will follow through and create a "historical battle" phase of gaming.
The future war phase was great, but I'm down for something different!
I think a Vietnam game would be brutal, with the punji sticks and Agent Orange and whatnot.
I hope that's true. I've been wanting a World War I FPS for a while, and the only one that's came out that I've liked has been Verdun.
It was great? I found it utterly boring and literally completely killed my interesting on Shooters almost over night. I mean everything and everyone went down the same bloody development path. Rainbow 6 I think with their last game finally went back to their roots on what made the Franchise a success. For a while they turned it into a stereotypical linear shooter advanced warfare franchise. SOCOM and Ghost Recon games were gods on earth for a while when they were strategic almost semi open world squad tactics games, then they turned stereotypical as well to draw bigger audiences to them. Medal of Honor used to be Indiana Jones movie style action shooters with a WWII theme of course with some of the best sound tracks gaming has ever seen with almost Movie production quality by people like Dreamworks.
Let alone all the kind of silly and cool shooters that would fill in all the gaps. lol
Call of Duty was once awesome as well, when EA pretty much gutted the staff who worked on Medal of Honor, a lot of the Devs for it pretty much Continued Medal of Honor and created Call of Duty instead under a different company. Then after Call of Duty 2 the franchise took off, and money became more important than making a good game and they just started spamming Call of Duty Games, other companies then just took their existing franchises and well started making Call of Duty Rip offs. I think Battlefield was one of the few last hold outs really, only adapting a similar period/theme that was popular in Advance Warfare games, but keeping that Battlefield feel to the games themselves.
Lets say in the end I found myself enjoying stuff like H.A.V.E. Online, Team Fortress 2, Battlefield Heroes and basically a lot of MMO or Free shooters far more than the over priced ones that some how were insanely popular. So I stopped buying shooters all together. Unless one of my friends dragged me kicking/screaming to buy a particular one. lol
