Game "doesn't work" - demo fails to launch

As an avid computer user, I know how annoying that phrase is, I just didn't know how else to say it.

I'm trying to run the strong bad games, or the new monkey island.

I wanted to try the demo to make sure things are alright first. When I click the button to proceed with the demo, it just quits. There are no errors or anything. This happens on all the games.


At first I thought I was just out of luck. I was trying to run it through means of emulation on my Mac, but then I tried it on a PC laptop and had the same problem. Please help. Otherwise I can't buy your games :(

    There are several threads discussing similar Issues.
    First thing you should do is to give us information on your System in General and also by running dxdiag as described here.

    Then you should make sure you have all windows updates installed, update your graphics card driver and directx, and see if that helped.


    Finally have a look at this thread and try some of the proposed solutions.
