My professional review of Chapter 1 after completing it
HOLY THREE HEADED MONKEY I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!!!!
Thank you Telltale, you not only met my expectations, you even exceeded them! I really played a lot of adventure games i the last 15 years but this one is really TOP!
Story:
EXCELLENT STORY, LeChuck turning human, never thought of that! Big surprise! Definately something for the Monkey Island universe! I liked how the story developed throughout the Chapter 1, the new characters were interesting and funny and they fit very good into the Monkey Island saga. Can't wait how the story progresses! And I am VERY curious who the lady at the end was hehehehe
Presentation:
Graphics are FANTASTIC in my opinion. The overall look and feel was stunning, VERY Monkey Island like. I loved all the attention to details, the backgrounds (environments) looked absolutely beautiful and were a pleasure to watch! Also the characters were very lovely and acted funny Other companies, even the big guys in the industry could learn something from you guys, you did an superb job at cathing the immersion! Sound and music were top notch and helped even more to suck you into the game! Same for the voices. BIG TALENT in the sound and music department of Telltale if you ask me, same for the voices!
Only thing that could use some improvement are the fire effects, explosions and stuff like that if you ask me! They could be more spectacular.
Interface:
Overall I think the interface is excellent. Love the mouse only controlling. What I absolutely loved was the folding inventory thingy on the right hand. Well designed, works VERY efficient and well, lovely graphics! BIG praise in that area.
One thing that could need some work is walking with Guybrush by holding the mouse button and dragging it into one direction. Sometimes can couse collisions, sometimes it suddenly moves into the other direction as aimed. I guess it could be improved with some fine tuning. No big problem but could use some work.
Organisation, Distribution and General Support:
Despite the small delay on release day because of the huge onslaught of people to the website everything worked well and efficient.
What I do like, although I did not use it, is the built in hint system and the walkthrough on the website. This will definately help to avoid frustration for people who don't have that much experience with adventure gaming.
Overall I give it a 9/10 because of the minor things I mentioned above.
Definately can't wait to get the other episodes into my fingers. Please dear Telltale, please promise you will continue to release adventures and even more Monkey Island episodes for a very very long time!

Professional was meant to be funny and ironic.....not serious...
Just put it in quotes or asterisks next time Irony doesn't really work for text.
That's a lie.
So, in other words, (if you were going for irony) you hate the game. Is that it?
If not, then:
I agree I agree I agree I agree I agree
Ah that was irony because I learned the opposite in school.
Gordon Brown said "I am not an idiot." They're not being ironic.
... More likely Brown is.
Well, it doesn't work without context, whereas even without context you can usually understand it if you're talking to somebody face to face.
Look:
I think the Monkey Island look was captured pretty well. All in all the graphics added to the game rather than detracted and thats all I ask.
Sound:
I enjoyed the music and sounds which is rare for me. I usualy mute the sound and read the subtitles because it annoys me to wait for the voice actors to finish speaking. In this case, not only did I leave the sound on, I actually waited for the voices to finish rather than right clicking through it. That really surprised me.
Difficulty
1) The game was way too easy. I finished it in a little over 2 hours and that is with my 8yo sitting in my lap working the mouse. The puzzles were fairly obvious and, even with hints turned off, there were occasions that I was given hints by guybrush that almost solved the puzzle for me if I used an object incorrectly. Also, there were a couple of areas that I solved simply by trial and error and only later figured out how I was supposed to do it. The weather vane is a good example of this.
Interface:
I was somewhat annoyed by the interface. To begin with, the mouse movement is terrible...whats wrong with the standard "click here to move here" method? Forcing me to hold the button down was annoying and my avatar kept getting caught on the scenery due to poor camera angles. I quickly gave up and used wsad/arrow keys. I really wish I had played the demo before purchasing the entire series as the mouse control would have been a dealbreaker for me.
Camera angles:
The camera angles were sometimes difficult to deal with. I often found myself wanting to click on something in the background but couldn't find the sweetspot where I needed to stand. An example of this would be on the boat in the beginning and at the end. I kept having to move around until I could find a place to stand with a view of what I wanted to click on.
Inventory:
I liked the inventory system although I often found myself with an object on my mouse trying to get the dang thing to close. I would much prefer it if, when the curser left the bounds of the inventory box, the inventory would close automatically.
Other than that I like the game. The story and humor definitely had the feel of previous Monkey island adventures and I thought the plot flowed fairly well. None of the puzzles seemed to have been just thrown in as often happens with adventure games. Overall, I will give it a 7.5 out of 10 with the mouse movement, non-autoclosing inventory and lack of difficulty being the main detractors.
NONONO just the "professional" part was self irony, the rest was SERIOUS! I love the game!
