  • They made a narrative out of Minecraft, even though it was lacking in one. I'm talking about how I'm surprised they didn't make a narrative oriented game at all in this case.

  • 'Watches Trailer'

    Huh, this looks dope!

    'Looks up gameplay'

    Oh...

  • Huh... that's a bit disappointing. I won't lose sleep over it though.

  • Again TTG giving us something that really don't want.

The only game that people didn't really want but delivered was Tales From The Borderlands. The other games they've been pushing just isn't it doing it for a majority of people.

Just give me TWD S3 and TWAU and let all this other shit go. Expanding their projects all over the place isn't doing them any real good.

This is them publishing it, not making this.

Honestly, the thing I find the most odd is that they are bringing a game that is still in Alpha state on the PC to the consoles in 2 months. And the game has already been out for 3 years too, so having to make patches for the consoles will probably slow it down further. I kinda wonder when they gave Iron Galaxy the job to port it to consoles. This could be a decent port of an unfinished game or a shit port. Still, I think it would've been best if they actually finished the game first. I guess the devs just want more money, and Telltale seems to have some money to burn.

  • Someone explain me. What is THIS about? It appeared out of nowhere.

  • Lol fucking what?

Telltale got so much shit when they announced The Walking Dead. Then they got shit for announcing The Wolf Among Us. Then again with Tales and Game of Thrones. Almost every single one of their modern games was something people claimed to not want but end up being beloved anyway.

Again TTG giving us something that really don't want. The only game that people didn't really want but delivered was Tales From The Borde

  • Then I'm asking, what is "7 Days To Die" about? I need a full explanation because this is so random.

Nah, it's made by an independent developer that Telltale partnered with to get it on X-Box One and PS4. It's not the first time this has happened. The game has been around for a few years actually.

Huh. I first thought this was that top-down "How to Survive" game when seeing the title but actually I was wrong, (Normally I don't like FPS' because I have horrible aiming,) but this looks enjoyable though. I'll look into it. Heck maybe I'll buy it one day. or seven days... XD

The huge difference this time is that it's not a narrative focused game, hence the greater disappointment. I am disappointed with the Batman announcement because this is a universe I have no interest in and found all the Batman movies I've seen very boring but I might give it a try if on sale and might even love it.
But this? Nope, not even going to try. I have no interest in open-world fps, and the added multiplayer only makes me even less interested.

It's not even them making it. All they're doing is publishing the port to PS4 and X-Box One.

It's like what they did with You Don't Know Jack.

Hell, if anything it is more tolerated as the final episode at least made a majority of us interested how things may turn out in season two.

Reason why MKX was an unplayable mess on the PC.

So the console ports are developed by Iron Galaxy? Hopefully it won't be as terrible as Batman Arkham Knight on the PC, which they also work

  • edited April 2016

Also the reason why Zone of the Enders 1 ans 2 HD were terrible, considering they ran worse and had worse graphics (besides resolution) than the PS2 versions. Thanks to them, Zone of the Enders 3 was cancelled.

Porting cheap and boring zombie game slap telltale on it make a quick buck profit?

Telltale is better then this port good games preserve the brand with high quality like beginners guide and Stanley parable in pack. Get more respect off gamers and attract customers who never bought a telltale game after they saw they ported it

  • Which is why devs. shouldn't hire other studios to port their games. (which obviously doesn't apply to all though, but still)

  • That video is pretty much how I felt when I watched some gameplay of the game. Love how they made a live action trailer for the game, rather than a gameplay one.

Telltale isn't even porting it, they're just giving to a 3rd dev, Iron Galaxy, to port it over. I just don't understand what the point is in publishing an unfinished game, one that's been stuck in Alpha, for the 3 years. If it was finished? Fine, but it isn't. In fact, apparently it still has plenty of features that have yet to be implemented on PC, and the devs are pretty slow to release significant updates. It's honestly a big "fuck you" to the fans, the ones who have supported it for since 2013, that they are adding new features and modes first to the console ports. Not to mention that also having to patch the console ports will likely slow down the progress ofthe overall game.

Yeah, they should. I guess they believe handing it over to another while they are working on another game is a good idea, but as ZOE shows, it's not always a good idea.

Still, there are some devs who do a great job of porting games, such as Hexadrive and Bluepoint. Hexadrive managed to make Okami run at 4K (internally) on the PS3 and they fixed ZOE 2 HD (on the PS3), bumping the res and framerate from 720p30 to 1080p60 (the og PS2 version ran at 60 as well, if I remember correctly). Bluepoint has been responsible for some great remasters such as the Nathan Drake Collection and Gravity Rush Remastered, and they also made a pretty good port of Titanfall for the 360.

High Voltage Software though, I don't believe they've ever made a good port of a game. If I remember correctly, Saints Row 4 looks worse on the PS4 and XBO in certain aaspects, when compared to the 360 version.

Which is why devs. shouldn't hire other studios to port their games. (which obviously doesn't apply to all though, but still)

  • Okay, this is out-of-the-blue info, but the Gameboy actually ran Super Mario in 60fps. Didn't realize it until now.

Props to those studios that actually makes proper and functional ports .

  • I actuallydidn't know that. Well, the fact that it runs so well isn't too surprising, imo, since Nintendo tends to keep an eye on devs they assign to portingtheir games.Nintendo themselves also make suretheir games run as well as their hardware can.

Sure some websites have given it an average rating. But a lot of people love it despite critics opinions. I'll admit it's not as popular as other titles but that doesn't change that a lot of people love it.

  • I just saw this on Steam. I'm excited. I own the game but I'm not good at playing on PC with a keyboard and mouse, so I prefer consoles. I will definitely be trying this out. Maybe I can actually get somewhere with it.

  • Normally I love these guys, but these sorts of games are danger spots and apparently the thing is still in an alpha state for years on PC. It's just not the sort of game or developers TT should be in communication with. Play to their strengths and go with companies with game ideas which are similar to their own core mechanic.
