Issues with game play

I'm having issues with gameplay. In episode 3 when Michonne is trying to escape the burning house & she has a flashback to her apartment, I move past the dresser, past the closet, but when she tries to open the door I swipe down every time for her to duck but the arrow never turns red & she ends up dying when they throw the flames on her. Help. I just bought this episode & it is a shame that I cannot even play past this part. I have died multiple times trying to get past this. The arrow never turns red no matter how many times I swipe it.
