LeChuck is in Terminator 2!
I was looking at IMDB, to see what other roles the actors from COMI and MI:SE have done and was more than a little surprised when I realised that Earl Boen (who plays the part of LeChuck, wonderfully) also played Dr. Silberman in T2 & 3.
I'm sure that people on this thread are going to say something alone the lines of "well, duh" but maybe there's a few people who didn't know?!
I also noticed the following:
* Leilani Jones (Voodoo Lady) played Malia Gedde in the original Gabriel Knight game.
* Kay E. Kuter (Griswold Goodsoup) played Werner Huber in Gabriel Knight 2 (during the intro). He also played a couple of parts in Grim Fandango.
I wonder if anyone else can come up with some Monkey Island voice cross-overs? Remember, it doesn't have to be limited to people who voiced COMI and MI:SE, it can also be actors from EMI and TOMI. Happy hunting

edit: Keeping with Metal Gear, the voice of Wally, Neil Ross, is in Metal Gear Solid 3 as a VERY important character, Colonel Volgin, who's like the complete opposite of Wally.
LOL 'SEAL Team 10 member' Poor Dom, a bit underused there.
In other words "well, duh"
Also, the bald black guy on Skull Island was also the pawn shop owner on the Isle of the Crown in King's Quest VI.
I knew this before I played Monkey Island, so I was pretty amused and impressed to find out that he was LeChuck.
Also, in another thread on this forum, I joked that since Earl Boen wasn't able to play LeChuck in TMI, they should have gotten the guy who played Silberman in the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show. That guy did a good job (although it was a different take on the character, not a Boen impression).

Also, while this isn't Monkey Island related, nobody in the Sam&Max subforum seems to care that Andrew Chaikin, who played Max in Culture Shock, did the vocals for the David Bowie covers in Rock Band. The guy is also a very impressive beatboxer.
According to IMDB, Earl Boen appeared in the following Star Trek related media:
* Star Trek: Bridge Commander (2002) (Video Game) (voice) .... Capt. Draxon
* Star Trek: Armada II (2001) (Video Game) (voice)
* Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (2000) (Video Game) (voice) .... Vorhsoth / Imperial Officer / Crewman
* Star Trek: The Next Generation .... Nagilum (1 episode, 1988)
I'm not a Star Trek fan so I wouldn't know what season was showing circa '88. Maybe someone else does?
Not a Star Trek fan myself, but surely '88 must be one of the first seasons of the next generation?
I did a bit of quick research and Earl Boen is in Season 2, Episode 2; titled 'Where Silence Has Lease'.
But what's really funny is that Robert Patrick, the T2, played Commander Lowe in the Dig.
I know what you mean, when I found out Earl Boen did LeChuck's voice, I just couldn't picture that deep, threatening (in a comedic way) voice coming from 'Dr. Silberman's' mouth!
Damn, good recall Secret Fawful. I'd forgotten about that even though I was looking through the Dig Museum only yesterday!
That's the one (obviously, since you've just looked it up!) - good episode I thought.
The Steam page for The Dig lists that as a selling point
That almost swayed me in the Loom vs Dig debate
I think for an adventure fan getting both Loom and The Dig is essential because they're the two most unique adventure games that LucasArts ever made. I prefer The Dig myself, although I'd love to play the talkie version of Loom because I only have the disk version. How is the voice acting in Loom by the way?
Edit: Robert Patrick in The Dig as well?! Jeez... why do I just assume these are voice actors with the same names as the actual actors XD
No kidding! I never new that. I was upset when I heard she killed herself, I never felt that the replacement actress for the Mayor of South Park was anywhere near as good.
For some reason, I actually find that quite creepy that both the voice of Griswald Goodsoup and Minnie Goodsoup are actually Dead in real life, somehow it makes Blood Island more chilling.
I'm never going to hear the last on this one, am I? *sigh* I realised he was in T1 before anyone posted back to correct me but I was too busy cooking a curry to update my post at the time. What's a guy to do?!
Can't say I noticed that. I'll find that episode in my DVD collection and watch it tonight.
Loom talkie version is great , but well so is dig. not quite sure who of them i liked the most.
as long as there is no talkie version of zak mckracken i don't care. grr.
Zak McKracken is the only LucasArts adventure game I've never played through to completion (in fact I've only played the opening 15 minutes or so). I loved what I did see but I was put off by the old school (read: cumbersome) verb box.
It'd be great to get a special edition of Zak. If not, then I'm sure I'll play through it one day... after I all, I finally ,kinda forced, my way through the original Maniac Mansion a few months back so there is hope yet
Wow, I never knew that
He sounds entirely different.
I see the guy who played Griswald was also a unit voice in Emperor: Battle For Dune.
Haggis was played by Scrooge McDuck? Awesome.
God... I find Maniac Mansion to be the most illogical, tedious and just poorly-designed adventure game I've ever played.
I used a walkthrough to get through it on ScummVM and I know I never could have figured it out. I mean, the puzzles often rely on having multiple people in the right places at the right time. Then you can lose in so many ways.
So I made it to the end, I called the aliens and the bastards never came
I open every ****ing door on the way to the last door but it doesn't work... FFS. I really hate that game
At one point I had a bunch of ScummVM adventure games on my computer and my wife, at the time, was not into adventure games as I was. She decided to go on my computer one day and play Maniac Mansion. Again, she's never played an adventure game before. She played all the way through it with only ONE hint and beat the game within a couple weeks, IIRC. She BEAT it. I still haven't gotten barely anywhere in the game and she beat it. Her first adventure game. With only ONE hint. Blew me away. Later I had her play Day of the Tentacle because of her newfound interest in adventure games and she actually said that when she beat it, she thought Maniac Mansion was better, even though DOTT was really good.
I couldn't believe it. It was then that I realized that Maniac Mansion isn't really a hard game at all. You just have to get into it. It's actually a lot simpler than most LA games. I think with the existence of deaht/dead ends an adventure game can really scare off a lot of LA adventure fans.
AHAHAHAH Wally is Volgin? I never knew, but that's awesome.
Not really so funny since that's a typical Scottish thing.
Stereotypical anyways.... It's not like they serve haggis (sheeps heart, liver, and lungs) at "McDonald's"!!!!
