What should a gamer buy?

My Budget is $800 what should i buy
PC? PS4? or Xbox 1?

most PCs can run games created 10 years after. Prob is, when a game is released, sometimes it takes later for PC release date, like when a PS4 game is released, the PC version comes in 1 year after or something like that. Also, another prob will be that of changing videocards.

for PS, i think within the span of 10 years, there were PS2, then PS3 then PS4, so most likely PS phase out fast.

for XBOX, idk but i think it's more expensive than PS4 but has only changed from Xbox360 to Xbox1, & i think there are fewer games for xbox 1.

Can you recommend, which is the best among consoles?

  • PS rules!

    PS1-Awesome

    PS2-Awesome

    PS3-Awesome

    PS4-Uber awesome

  • I'd wait until Playstation Experience so that they reveal the Playstation Neo. Its a more powerful PS4 and you'd would still have loads of budget for games remaining.

Or you could wait until we hear more about Project Scorpio which is going to be the most powerful console ever. 4K gaming at 60 fps I'm guessing the target is. Xbox has some cool games on the horizon but I think that playstation has the upper hand.

Playstation is the best choice at the moment in terms of power and exclusives. I mean they just announced a Spider man exclusive, a God Of War reboot, Uncharted 4 was just released, Horizon Zero Dawn is on the way, and Naughty Dog will have one or two more games for the PS4 most likely.

  • Depends on your preference, really. Both consoles tend to have the same games, but some have different exclusives.

  • Everyone is going to be super bias...
$800 probably isn't enough to invest in a solid gaming PC and all of its components. I would personally scrap that idea unless you plan to upgrade it in the future.
Out of the consoles, really it's just personal preference. I have a PS4 and Xbox One and prefer my Xbox by quite a bit, although it does miss out on exclusives like The Last Of Us and Uncharted (which are pretty great). In saying that, Xbox also has its fair share of exclusives that are pretty damn good.
I find the Xbox One to be a lot easier to navigate, snapping apps to the right of your screen, easy-to-use home menu and a better friends system...plus it has Halo, so if I had to pick between the two, i'd go the Xbox.
In general functionality though you're basically paying for the same thing. Pick whatever your friends have (for online games) or whatever exclusives you prefer.

i think there are fewer games for xbox 1

Nah, only exclusives differ. Both have almost all the same games with no differences.

  • It depends, what kinds of games do you like, also, are there other applications aside from games you might want?

To get a good PC for gaming, it might cost more than 800, however, with a PC, you can use a bunch of other applications, as well as mod your games.

With PS4 and XBONE, I'd suggest waiting for their next variant to release which is supposed to be better and previous games should be playable on those, they both have exclusive gaming titles but lack in applications, if you wanted, you could even go for a previous gen console as they have allot of games, allot of which are cheap titles!

  • Either PC or PlayStation. Depends on if you like consoles or not.

  • Get a PC.

I would recommend a PS4 but you should wait until holiday time for sales and stuff like that.

  • An $800 PC isn't going to get you very far. If that's your cap, get a PS4.

  • but doesn't PS upgrade quickly? like in a span of 13 years PS2 changed to PS 3 then PS4?
unless maybe the gen after PS4 in the future would be more powerful than PCs.
but aren't these desktops able to run @ decent frame rate games of today?

    Never going to happen.

    Videogames.

  • and in 3 years you will need a new GPU, possibly a new PSU, eventually a new CPU, motherboard, SSD. PC is better, but it's definitely not the cheaper option unless you get the money back on games by waiting until they go on sale for $5.

  • but i had a $600 laptop, and was able to run decently on games released from 2004 to now. only, it's at 30fps for the games released between 2014-16. so between 2004 to 2016, that would have been one PS3 and 1 PS4.

and i think with the same specs between a laptop and a desktop, the desktop's price would be even lower.

  • anyways, i think another problem with PC would be the size the games would occupy on the hard disk after installation(i'm not quite sure though, but i think, some games on PS4 are smaller than that of PC.

  • PC is just too much hassle for me with updates and expenses. I think ps4 has alot of JRPGs and general japanese games because it owns the market over there and xbox has FPS games so it depends on your preference. I have a ps4 but im not biased about it I had a 360 before which I played to death and a ps4 came up cheap. I would say im happy with my ps4 the Kinect feature on the xbox is cool as a gimmick but I think its pretty cringe generally

  • I have a ps4 the hardrive on mine is 500gigs and fallout 4 (without dlc) is 70gig the drive gets filled quickly and you have to install games even if you have a disc

  • Wait for PS4 Neo if you want a console this year or wait til next year and get an Xbox one Scorpio.

  • Personally I play on both PC (HP Touch) and Ps4 either one is up to you.

  • I personally have X1, PS4, and PC. Here are some pros and cons

XBOX One and PS4 can both run Blu-Ray

XBOX has great exclusives such as Dead Rising, Halo, and Gears of War to name a few. However, for as much as I love my XBOX, it had a major problems within the first minth I got it. It wouldn't let me insert any discs. I talked to a GameStop Employee and said he had the same problem. It still technically hasn't been fixed, however, I need to hold the disc as it circulates in and release after about 5 seconds.

PS4 has been a flawless experience for me. I cannot recall one problem I've had with the system. It has amazing exclusives like The Last of Us(Remastered), Uncharted 4, and Until Dawn. Plus, I find it easier to navigate than XBOX.

PC is determinant on how much money you can dish out. For $800, I'd say skip it. However, if you're a MMO addict, then you don't really have a choice.

Overall, If say invest in a PS4.

And assuming you haven't already, don't buy Destiny!

  • yeah, i've seen many bad reviews about destiny.

  • For 800 definitely invest in a PC, though if I were in your position I would save up an extra 300-400 or so and get what you really want. Find someone skilled in computer building and for 1200 you can build pretty much anything you want.

  • I prefer consoles, but you should have a PC.

destiny is quite a good game imo its just paying £60-£70 for dlc which is fucking ridiculous but i reccomend a ps4 the exclusives are good (mostly lol) the only downside is ps plus which does in its defence get you access to free games each month but you need plus to play online the yearly one is best value

  • by the way, talking about GPUs, Do you need an i7 to make the GPUs (like GeForce GTX960 & above) run better? or can i5 be sufficient? i'm a noob at this, so i don't really know if processors have effects on a GPUs performance.

  • It depends on the GPU. For the GTX960, an i5 seems fine right now. Yes, they can have an effect. A processor can choke the performance of a GPU. Don't let that scare you though. As of this year, the difference has been pretty negligible. A few games have started to have more of a difference lately, but I wouldn't expect a huge difference any time soon. I haven't really looked into it this year, but the current gen consoles are already 2? years old, I don't see a big improvement coming for a few more years in processing needs.

Now, if you are doing any rendering like graphic design, video editing, 3D models, then you'll want an i7.

If it's one thing games certainly market itself toward, it's shitty harmful snacks that ugly lonely fat sexually repressed gamers can chow down and gulp copious amounts of while they're playing their favorite triple A release from EA or Ubisoft.

  • Why don't you just get a bigger hard drive, it's easy to replace. I got a 4TB from amazon for 100 bucks.

  • I should do, im a bit worried about doing it because it seems invasive i was considering a external hard drive but i heard its slow. I wish it was like it was with my 360.

  • There's multiple youtube videos on how. It's not that invasive, you slide the cover off and there's one or two screws you loosen and slide the old one out and pop the new one in.

  • Does anyone have an idea How many more years until developers stop creating games for PS4(or PS4 becomes obsolete)? any hunch or guesses? or reliable source?
