Please help Me choose which is the Best Budget VR Headset?

I'm planning to buy a VR headset but i have no idea which one to choose.

  1. i just need the VR for film viewing, i don't need it for playing 3d games or anything like that, i just want to use it when watching movies. What can you recommend for this? please also include price range if possible
  2. Do all VRs need phones in them? i'd really want to buy something that just needs to connect directly to PC or something like that, something that doesn't need a phone. Is there a VR that doesn't need mobile/smart phones?

    Gear VR is supposedly a best choice if you want just watch movies. Assuming you have a compatible phone to fit on it and want to buy movies (or use Netflix, whatever.)
