Double Fine Forums are Down

DFAF forums are down, and have been for days.

What gives?!?

  • They are upgrading to a new forum software. I think it's Invasion? I don't remember off the top of my head.

@Jennifer might know more details since she is also a mod there as well.

The boards are supposed to be back up around the 25th.

  • I've heard they're upgrading their software. That's all I got. @Jennifer is a mod there, as well as here, so she would know more.

  • Oh! Okay, I remember.
It's Invision Power Board (IP.Board) that they're moving to.

Certainly is taking them a long time. I would have thought they'd test the new forum and make sure it works before bringing the current one offline.

InGen_Nate_Kenny is correct. They're moving away from the buggy Emotion Engine forum setup they had. Last I heard, it should be down about a week or so.

We're doing a forum downtime game jam if you'd like to get involved in that. It's at https://itch.io/jam/df-forum-downtime-funtime-adventure and there's an adventure game we're all working on at http://github.com/Double-Fine-Game-Club/forum-downtime-funtime-adventure

You can find out more about what's been done for the adventure game, and what needs to be done at the wiki and the issues tracker

There's also a discussion board at the itch.io game jam page where we're discussing the jam and the forum downtime funtime adventure game.

The IRC channels are still going as well, at #dfaf and #dfadventure on foonetic. net. While the forums been down, cheeseness and/or I have been trying to be in the IRC channel most of the time, especially since a lot of the discussion about the game is happening in #dfaf.
