Need help navigating the jungles of flossom? Heres a map! (Massive Filesize Warning!)

Hola all, here is My infamous map of the Flotsam jungle and where all the paths lead.

Its kinda huge, so it can be printed at high res. (It also currently Graces my laptop as a wallpaper)

While it may appear to be random, most of the paths are one way and will always dump you in the same spot.

And before you ask... No, I did not put the treasure hunt paths down, you'll have to figure those out for yourself. This map is merely to help you find the landmarks, and understand how everything is connected.

Hope it helps!

After looking at the internal map Mike made for the episode design doc for so long, yours is totally disorienting, but it looks like it's all in order! Cool stuff.

But is it to scale? JK

Holy cow! 4.3mb file on a forum post? Gawd!

Here's my advice: use jpg instead of png
post a forum friendly resolution (640x480 or 800x600)
post a small preview image for people with slow internet connection, and make this huge file available somewhere else, like sendspace, megaupload etc.

Oh! Put the word spoiler in your heading too!

Cool map. Since I wanted to print it without running out of ink I made a smaller, simpler and - I guess - less accurate version.

I could post a smaller jpeg, but whats the point? I used .Png from Adobe Illustrator just because I wanted it to retain the HD that the original was captured in. (and cause it does make a kickass wallpaper :D )

Too bad This forum does not have the ability to hide images in spoiler tags, even though this image is not much of a spoiler... it does not tell you the routes to travel for the treasure hunts. It merely explains how the paths between the landmarks work.

I could have spent more time on it... but I only did it for myself, I decided to post it when the treasure hunt game came out (just because it would help make sense of the one way paths)

I suppose I could work on it some more... add the monkey island logo, and add some fading effects to the ink. (maybe use the actual in game map symbols as well)

P.S. Jake, you got it wrong, my map is perfection, its Mike's map that is disorienting ;)

There is a fixed map of that jungle? Interesting, I thought at least part of it was dynamic based on where you went. The treasure/map search paths did require specific sequences of directions after all.
One was even turning back on the same track, that's not something you can catch in a map surely ??:)

I've got your kickass wallpaper right here:

    mapofflotsam.th.jpg

but at one tenth of the size of your PNG. (Hint: just because you save it as a JPEG doesn't mean you have to make your image any smaller - JPEG compression at 95% quality FTW...)

    np: B12 - Ming (B12 Records Archive Vol. 1 (Disc 1))

You mean he needs to alter his altar? Is the Cannon canon?

I think he was asking you to put the word "spoiler" in the title of the OP because there is one spoiler on the map. You refer to the
shack as a VooDoo Shack, which is a spoiler about the VooDoo Lady
. Everything else that's there that might be considered a bit spoilery is covered by saying "Here's a map".

The only other thing I would suggest for the map if you were making it for other people (I know you were making it for yourself, but if you weren't...) is add the double jagged line to the map key. I know what it means, but I'm sure there are some people who don't.
