No pre-order for me, but I'm definitely getting the game. I'd also be interested in how well the game sold so far, especially compared to Sam and Max. This would give us a pretty good indication if there will be future Monkey Island games from Telltale.
If they said they are going well, that probably means that they are excellent. They will never say "yea, it's going just awesome". Every time, what they say is a step or two below the actual sales.
Telltale doesn't release sales figures but they did say the sales of tomi were going well
I assume so too, the game has been on top of the steam charts for almost two weeks and still is in the top 10, that does not even count in the international sales numbers which probably went through the TTG site for 99% due to the steam ripping off non us customers policy.
Also the interest on the wii side of things is also very high. I assume it will do very well.
I'd say from me telltale has made a fair bit of money from tales of monkey island, I've always been a die hard monkey island fan and immediately jumped at the chance to get a new monkey island game. Got the pre order deal and used my free episode to get sam and max episode 1, always liked sam and max and didn't know someone had made more games from it so ended up getting both seasons Love both sam and max and the new monkey island game so far
It's unlikely Telltale will have initial sales for TOMI. If they did, then it would be called "ales f onkey sland", which would make no sense whatsoever.

The site crashed on release day with over 1,300 users on this forum and about 5,000 visitors... that's a lot of people! and I would say that most of them (aside from a few hundred lurkers) purchased the game.
Not to mention its availability from steam and several other sources...
I would say that its selling very well (I would say that it will move 20,000-40,000+ units before years end)
I would be willing to bet that MI:SE has sold twice as many copies on PC, which would put sales at over 150,000. An equal value of that would be ~43,000 sales of TMI.
Both games have been out less than a month so their sales will also substantially increase in the next 5 months.
Are you talking initial sales? that's what I was quoting... about 40,000 from their site in the first day or so... (about 100,000 in the first week)
but If they localize the game, and put the game up for retail sale after the season is over (like they did with S&M) give it time and I am sure they will move over 1,000,000 units quite easily.

Well, you said "before year's end" in your other post, so that's what I was talking about.
Telltale's Dan Connors gave Videogamer an idea of just how well: "It was a great launch for us," he said. "We're really happy with it. I think it even exceeded our expectations."
Connors didn't offer specific numbers, but he said that Tales of Monkey Island outperformed Telltale's other launches. "I would definitely say it's our strongest performing franchise to date," he said. "We're pretty excited. It was number one on Steam for a few days. It did really well. It's been our best performing title from our side as well."

(Btw, this thread should really have been titled "Sales of Monkey Island?" - it would have been hilarious)
If the sale is on ebay, I will bid for it.

Yeah, I fall for marketing tricks like crazy.
that makes 9.
maybe we can get an estimate by counting here on the forum?
Hmmm, i don´t think so... but anyway: + 1 pre-order from me - makes 11 of us by now.
so 12 of us by now
One preorder her!

TOMI has topped the sales on steam in that week which is a very good indication of the good sales
20,000-40,000 is WAY too low.
MI:SE has sold 51,000 on Xbox Live alone.
MI:SE is also way cheaper than ToMI.

I want to know if the sales in Germany are good too ?!?!?
Any facts how big the Downloads are in the different Countrys

Nice. If it's sold that much Telltale must have made millions off of this game alone.
Wonder how you come out with that figure...
