Will there ever be a time when humans use the full potential of their brains?

Right now, we all use only 1% of our brains, what about the other 99%. Do you think there would be a time when humans are able to use it? Why?

Are you saying we're not smart?
I'm not show how reliable it is to believe that we only use 1% of our brains, considering there are 7 billion people on Earth - so how can we be sure that we all use the exact same percentage of our brains? Isn't the 1 or 10 percent thing just a myth anyway?

That is true. The initial studies that stated that we use 1% of our brain was from a single scan, a still picture. The finding at that time meant that we use 1% of our brain at a given time. This was also quickly debunked, but it spread like fire anyway. Different thoughts, emotions, etc. yield different results. We do use our whole brain.
Personally, I'm grateful for only being able to use about 1% of my brain, because if I could use the entire thing, I probably make even bigger mistakes, and get into even bigger trouble, than I do now. LOL!
That's not true at all.
No?
Your statistic is horribly flawed and incorrect. We don't have any hidden potential in our brains, different parts are used for different things and there are no parts of the brain left unused.
Isn't that 1% as in "what you use currently"? I mean we aren't going to use all possible functions while we are, for example sleeping. I am glad we don't.
Wait, are you telling me that the drug addict behind the counter at Mcdonalds or the alcoholic wife beating couch potato from Bumfuck, Alabama can use their brains in the same way that Bobby Fischer, Nikola Tesla, etc, used theirs and get similar results?
If that is true and we hold super powers that are untapped that'd be cool.
But yeah, I think we already use all of our brain power.

When did he say dat?
You mean Limitless and Lucy were documentaries? /s
Correct, that is the current thought about how our brains work. Science currently states that to be the case. But in the past they have used the model presented above as Hypothisis. Now then to answer sadly,we already do use our brain to its max. While we don't yet know what every inch of a human brain does,we have traced a vast majority of its functions to specific regions of the brain. I don't wish to break it all down here, but as far as we can tell , humans as a whole are as smart as we can get naturally. That's why computers are a thing to begin with!
